At the end of a summer day, I chose a different way to travel – taking the green train from Nanning to distant Beijing. Ticket ** is 2685 yuan, the whole journey takes 235 hours. The first time I tried a long train journey, I was looking forward to having a good night's rest and enjoying the view outside the window during the day. However, I never imagined that this trip would be such a nightmare.
When I first got on the train, the environment of the green train was quite satisfactory, clean and not crowded, and everyone sat in an orderly manner, as if it would be a pleasant journey. However, as the train started, the number of people in the carriages gradually increased, and more people poured on the train at each station, and there were significantly more people getting on the train than getting off, and the carriages became more and more crowded. The aisles were crowded, and I started to feel a little flustered. It's a little uncomfortable to be in such a crowded and enclosed space.
Although smoking is clearly stated in the carriage, there are people smoking at the junction of the carriage, only to find that the junction is actually allowed to smoke, and there is even a box for cigarette butts. The inconsistency between the non-smoking sign and the actual situation filled the entire carriage with the smell of smoke, and the already closed space was even more uncomfortable. When night came, I thought I could sleep peacefully with the help of sleepiness, but I unexpectedly stayed awake all night. The people who didn't have seats in the carriage sat in the aisle, so I couldn't straighten my legs at all. Seeing that there was no seat for a young lady next to me, I gave up half of the seat to her, and she fell asleep with her bag in her arms. I had to bend my knees, which made the night extremely difficult. Repeatedly trying to stand up, but unable to sleep, the sleepless night became a true portrayal of this journey.
The aisles of the carriage were so crowded that it was extremely difficult to even go to the toilet. There was only one working toilet in the carriage of more than a hundred people, and one of them was broken, which was not repaired until the time he got off the train. Some people may say that I am too hypocritical, after all, it was like this with train travel decades ago, so why not get used to it?However, I believe that everyone feels uncomfortable in a crowded and confined space. I'm not writing this article to be vexatious, but I hope that we can enjoy a better environment while paying our fares. At the very least, smoking should be prohibited in the carriages, and there should be no crowding of people without seats. Why are hard-seat cars so limited and non-seated cars so numerous? Is it possible to increase the number of hard-seat cars, especially during the peak tourist season? Is it reasonable for a non-seat ticket to be the same as a hard-seat ticket? After all, standing for 24 hours and sitting for 24 hours are completely different experiences. The fact that so many seatless passengers are huddled together is really pitiful, and it feels like there is an atmosphere of disregard for the lives of passengers. Even if you complain to 12306, it is difficult to understand, and you are even sprayed to the fullest.
Finally, I sincerely hope that China's railways can get better and better, so that everyone's travel will become more convenient and comfortable. We hope that every passenger can feel warm and cared for during the journey.
