How to improve the cold resistance of coal pitch?
1. Adjust the formula: adding an appropriate amount of plasticizer to the coal pitch can reduce its glass transition temperature, improve flexibility, and enhance cold resistance. At the same time, appropriately increasing the asphalt content in coal pitch can also improve the cold resistance of coal asphalt.
2. Add thickener: thickener can increase the viscosity of coal asphalt, so that it is not easy to harden and crack at low temperature, so as to improve cold resistance. Commonly used thickeners include synthetic polymer materials, natural rubber, etc.
3. Add antifreeze: Antifreeze can reduce the freezing point of coal pitch and prevent it from freezing at low temperatures. Commonly used antifreeze agents are ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, etc.
4. Control the production temperature: In the production process, the production temperature of asphalt should be appropriately increased so that it can better adapt to the low temperature environment.
5. Proportion adjustment: In the production process, the proportion of additives is very critical. When the proportion of additives is too high, it will affect the basic properties of asphalt, resulting in a decrease in cold resistance. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the proportion of additives appropriately according to different types of additives and the use environment.
