Jointly sponsored by the Film Art Center of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Film Critics Society, an expert observation seminar on the film "Heavenly Responsibility" was held in Beijing a few days ago. The film tells the story of the "Chosen One" Sora, his partner Pu Lao, and the human girl Nowa teaming up to fight against foreign invaders.
The main creator of the film revealed that the whole film creation process lasted for 10 years, not only incorporating elements of traditional Chinese culture, but also expressing thoughts on practical issues and philosophical propositions, hoping that children and adult audiences can get inspiration from the film.
Experts at the meeting said that the film revolves around the themes of "growth" and "change", combining ancient mythology with modern science fiction, traditional culture and contemporary aesthetics, full of childlike fun and philosophies, and reflecting strong innovation and reality in artistic expression.
Rao Shuguang, president of the China Film Critics Society, believes that the current Chinese animated films are showing a benign development trend, and animated films with distinctive styles, peculiar imagination and diversified expressions will bring more fresh viewing experience to the audience and open up a broader space for the development of Chinese animated films.
