The people behind Johnny's Donuts are all donut fanatics. Their recipes date back to the 1920s and laid the foundation for the brand's strategy: to bring classic American artisanal donuts to Northern California.
We helped launch the Bay Area classic, and Johnny Donuts is now blowing up a little happiness hole in 3 brick-and-mortar stores as well as a fleet of food trucks and custom vans. Rooted in nostalgia and infused with a modern twist, the brand celebrates the undeniable joy of biting into a freshly baked warm doughnut made from the finest ingredients.
What started as food trucks has become a movement in the Bay Area. It all started with the design and launch of our beautifully minimalist food trucks, core brand identity system, and food packaging that combines metallic gold with a pastel palette of dough styles. We hand-wrote the brand's logo design and created the donut icon for a gorgeous Art Deco feel that is both classic American nostalgia.
As the brand expanded, we developed and designed a branded environmental signage and menu board system for its Marin Country Mart store, ensuring brand consistency and easy ordering for customers.
Our branding efforts for Johnny Donuts are no strangers to The Spotlight. Our donut truck design co-starred with Denzel Washington in the Oscar-nominated Mr. Roman J israel, esq.The daughter of the filmmaker's daughter stumbled upon our brand and food truck design, which embodies the emotional tone of the scene and its bright, airy waterfront location.
