Before the start of the 2024 esports season, Riot Games will transform the LEC studio into a new arena for all Riot tournaments in the EMEA region.
Riot Games Arena – EMEA's new home for eSports
The new Riot Games Arena will be located in Adlershof, Berlin, and it will serve all current and future Riot Games esports tournaments in the region. Thanks to the innovative infrastructure design, the venue will become more flexible, able to seamlessly switch between any Riot Games esports league and brand, while ensuring that all activities are conducted according to standards.
Alberto Guerrero, Head of Esports at Riot Games EMEA, said: "Riot Games' investment in esports is comprehensive and profound, so this upgraded, world-leading esports facility will be the hub of our esports operations in the region, serving all of our tournaments. Creating a venue of this size is a testament to our long-term commitment to continuing to grow esports in the EMEA region for our fans, teams, and players, and this facility will set us up for future success." ”
Elevate the viewing experience
The organizers of the event will be committed to enhancing the viewing experience for both in-person and fans. Live spectators will have a better live viewing experience thanks to circular auditoriums, new cinema seating, and a layout that brings spectators closer to the players through the addition of dedicated player tunnels. At the same time, fans will have access to higher-quality broadcasts with additional broadcast studios, as well as dedicated linkage booths, as well as linkage booths for their favorite community celebrities.
Sarah Joynt Borger, Director of EMEA** at Riot Games, said: "When it comes to the refurbishment program, we put the needs and aspirations of our players and fans at the centre of our decision-making. On site, we wanted to provide an experience that would integrate them into our world, immersing them more fully in the universe of Riot Games. Given that a large percentage of our fans are playing at home**, we also need to pay a lot of attention to the quality and diversity of our broadcasts and productions to elevate their personal viewing experience. ”
With Riot Games' remote broadcast hub in Dublin, the venue will leverage digital technology to further enhance its broadcast and production capabilities, and it will be able to host all Valorant and League of Legends matches simultaneously, as well as other Riot Games EMEA eSports events remotely, including Valorant Challengers Ascension, Valorant EMEA Game Changers, EMEA Masters and Team Fight Tactics (TFT) tournaments.
With more details revealed in early 2024, the future of EMEA is becoming promising, and Riot hopes to take the region to the next level.
