On December 23, students from Wuxi No. 1 Girls' High School came to the School of Environment of Tsinghua University to receive the 7th "Qianyi Environmental Award", the middle school student team award, which is the first middle school student team in Jiangsu Province to win this award.
The "Qian Yi Environmental Award" was initiated and donated by the students of Academician Qian Yi to thank Academician Qian for his outstanding contributions to environmental research and education in China.
Qiao Minhui, Ni Shuyan, Sun Feiyang, Peng Nana, Zhang Jing, Huo Mali, Ji Qing, Wang Zhiqi, Lv Anqi, Han Yutong and other students from the Friends of Nature Club of Wuxi No. 1 Girls' High School, under the leadership of Teacher Wang Jian, stood out among the 197 application materials submitted across the country and won this award.
At the award ceremony, the students listened closely to the teachings of Academician Qian Yi and many experts, and reported to Academician Qian Yi in person the work of environmental engineering education in women's middle school.

Since its establishment in 2003, the Friends of Nature Association has won more than 60 national, provincial and municipal youth science and technology awards, and has been awarded the environmental protection public welfare funding award of Wuxi Ecological Environment Bureau for four consecutive years since 2020. In 2023, it will be rated as a National Ecological Civilization Education Characteristic School, Wuxi Ecological Civilization Education Practice Base, and Wuxi Environmental Engineering Education Key School.
The club carries out more than 10 on-campus and off-campus activities with the theme of environmental protection every year, and China Environmental APP, Environmental Education Magazine, Learning Power, and Wuxi ** have all reported on the environmental science and technology activities carried out by the club. This year, the on-site learning of the club includes more than 10 places such as Shanghai Songjiang Botanical Garden, Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden, Lianghong Wetland Park, and Wuxi Longting Sewage Treatment Plant.
The club integrates team building, environmental education, volunteer service, research experience, social investigation and scientific and technological activities, carries out research on environmental protection topics, cultivates students to experience real scientific research, implements "learning by doing", allows students to exercise and grow in the process of solving real problems, improves scientific literacy, social responsibility and innovation ability in practice, and becomes an incubator for future scientists and engineers.
