Recently, the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has reported a number of typical cases of "formalism on the fingertips", which has aroused widespread concern in the society. These cases reflect problems not only in Guizhou Province, but also reveal to a certain extent the seriousness of the problem of grassroots formalism across the country. Therefore, we need to think deeply and how to effectively eliminate this phenomenon.
First of all, we need to realize that the existence and spread of "formalism at the fingertips" is closely related to the current improper evaluation methods of grassroots work in some localities and departments. In pursuit of so-called "digital" management, some departments are keen to promote government apps, while ignoring the additional burden that these apps place on grassroots cadres. Too many government apps make grassroots cadres tired to cope, not only do not improve work efficiency, but become a burden on their work.
Secondly, another manifestation of "formalism at the fingertips" is the duplication and redundancy of information between government apps. Due to the lack of unified planning and integration, different departments often work in silos, resulting in duplicate filling of some information and duplicate punching and clocking in work. This phenomenon has not only increased the work burden of grassroots cadres, but has also brought unnecessary trouble to the masses.
To eliminate "formalism at our fingertips", we need to think and work from the following aspects:
First, reform and improve the assessment methods at the grassroots level. We need to fundamentally change the one-sided pursuit of digitalization and informatization, and pay more attention to work effectiveness and mass satisfaction. For the use of government apps, it should be based on actual needs, rather than as a tool for pursuing political achievements.
Second, strengthen the integration and management of government affairs apps. **Departments should set up special institutions to carry out unified planning and integration of all kinds of government affairs apps. This avoids information redundancy and duplicate clock-in, while improving work efficiency and public satisfaction.
Third, it is necessary to improve the quality and ability of grassroots cadres. Grassroots cadres are the main force in implementing policies and serving the masses. We should strengthen their training and education and improve their professionalism and work ability. At the same time, we should also pay attention to their physical and mental health and work stress issues, and create a good working environment for them.
Finally, the elimination of "formalism at the fingertips" is not only a technical issue, but also an issue that requires us to comprehensively consider from multiple perspectives such as system, technology, and personnel. Only when all parties work together can we truly achieve "let the data run more and let the cadres and the masses run less errands". With this as our goal, we should promote the modernization and humanization of grassroots work.
