Health for All says
As an experienced veteran TCM practitioner, I am well aware of the importance of qi and blood in TCM theory. Qi and blood are the basis for maintaining the normal operation of the human body, and their adequacy directly determines a person's health status and longevity. However, how to judge the adequacy of qi and blood?Today, I will introduce 4 key parts that can reflect the state of qi and blood, so that you can understand how to preliminarily judge the adequacy of qi and blood by observing the body.
First of all, we can judge the degree of fullness of qi and blood from the complexion. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, a person with sufficient qi and blood has a ruddy and shiny complexion, while vice versa. Pale complexion can be an important sign of insufficient qi and blood, which may be related to conditions such as spleen and stomach dysfunction, malnutrition, or blood loss. Therefore, we should pay attention to the changes in our complexion, such as finding that our complexion is pale, we can improve the abundance of qi and blood by adjusting our diet and exercising.
Secondly, tongue coating is also one of the important indicators for judging the condition of qi and blood. The tongue coating is a window into the internal qi and blood conditions of the human body. According to TCM theory, the normal tongue coating should be pale red and thin and moist. If the tongue coating is too white, or thick and sticky, it may mean that the qi and blood in the body are weak. At this time, the qi and blood conditions can be improved by adjusting the dietary structure, exercising, etc., so as to achieve the purpose of improving the health level.
In addition, the pulse can also indirectly reflect the condition of qi and blood. Traditional Chinese medicine judges the rise and fall of qi and blood by observing the characteristics of the pulse, such as tightness, smoothness, and fine counting. Normally, the pulse should be moderately tight, slippery, and have a steady rhythm. If the pulse is tight and thin, it may mean that there is not enough qi and blood. At this time, we should pay attention to rest and recuperate, and at the same time, we can use traditional Chinese medicine herbs** or acupuncture** to replenish qi and blood.
Finally, the eyes are also a part of the body of qi and blood. People who often stay up late or overuse their eyes for a long time often have problems such as dry eyes and decreased vision, which is closely related to the adequacy of qi and blood. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the eyes are connected to the liver meridians, and the liver is drained, and the eyes will remain moist and bright when there is sufficient qi and blood. Therefore, if we find that we have dry eyes, fatigue or decreased vision, we can improve our qi and blood conditions by adjusting our work and rest time, getting enough sleep, and protecting our eyes.
By observing key areas such as the complexion, tongue coating, pulse, and eyes, we can preliminarily judge the filling of qi and blood, so as to understand our own physical condition. However, judging whether qi and blood are abundant or not is only one part of TCM health preservation, if we really want to improve our health, we need to pay attention to the reasonable combination of dietary structure, moderate exercise, and mental adjustment. Only by maintaining good living habits and mentality can we fundamentally improve the condition of qi and blood, and maintain good health and longevity.
