TDK Corporation has developed a "PiezoHapt Actuator" with haptic feedback, and samples will be available from March this year. The PiezoHapt actuator is a vibration device with a single crystal structure consisting of a multilayer piezoelectric element and a vibration plate, which can be driven by a low voltage and can support various vibration modes. Compared to conventional eccentric rotary motor actuators and linear actuators (linear resonant actuators) used for vibration, this product has the world's thinnest thickness* (approx. 035mm), instantaneous reaction.

The piezoelectric element of this product is a multilayer type, which can generate a greater displacement than a single-plate element of the same thickness. Therefore, unlike the usual piezoelectric haptic feedback technology, which requires a high-voltage environment, the PiezoHapt actuator transmits a sense of vibration to the ** even at low voltages up to 24V.
