Two major events happened on the same day, NATO sent troops to the Russian border, wanting to ignite the flames of war in Europe? Russia has been forced to "show a red card", the crisis is escalating, but why is the enemy eyeing China?
Anyone with a discerning eye knows that Russia's relations with the United States and the West have reached a very critical critical point. At the same time, as the Ukraine issue continues to develop, the long-term struggle between Russia and the United States and the West will almost become an inevitable trend in the future. Against this background, two major events related to the direction of the world situation took place on the same day.
Let's start with the first big thing. NATO has officially launched the four-month large-scale military exercise "Steadfast Defender-2024" in recent days. I believe you have also heard of the report on this exercise, and it is of great practical significance in terms of scale and location. Even NATO has not shied away from directly admitting that the exercise is in response to a possible "offensive" by Russia in the future. Although such a statement may seem casual, in fact, the signal behind it is very noteworthy. First of all, NATO's statement of the exercise is only "to repel the invasion", but it looks more like a preparation for a possible entry into Ukraine and Belarus to carry out related military missions. Second, NATO's choice to conduct military exercises at such a sensitive moment may be for two purposes. One is to send a psychological signal to NATO members that they should trust that NATO will take the security of all members seriously. The other is to train NATO soldiers to "fight the Russian army", thereby warning Moscow that NATO is ready and capable of acting if necessary.
Of course, there may also be friends who think that a military exercise is really so evil? In general, there is no security risk associated with the usual military exercises, because they are a normal part of military life, but NATO's military exercises are near Russia's borders, in other words, NATO is sending troops to Russia's borders to hold large-scale exercises on the borders of countries that they consider enemies. Such a move is undoubtedly dangerous, and when tensions on both sides are high, the slightest mistake could lead to a real war, which obviously does nothing to ease tensions between Russia and NATO, but on the contrary, it is very likely to ignite the flames of war in Europe.
What is Russia's reaction to this? This brings us to the second big thing. On the same day that NATO officially kicked off the military exercises, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia will continue to abide by the "Strategic Reduction Treaty" on the premise that the United States and the West will not act rashly, and at the same time, there is also news that the work of putting the "Sarmat" strategic missile system on combat duty in 2024 has actually been completed, and now only the administrative approval process remains. From this, it is not difficult for us to come out, NATO's big move is obviously to force Russia to "give a red card" and take out nuclear deterrence. After all, tens of thousands of NATO troops have rushed to the Russian border, and in a sense, from Russia's point of view, this is not much different from soldiers approaching the city, so it is natural to be vigilant and use the most severe deterrent means to warn.
Based on this, it has to be said that these two major events that happened on the same day will inevitably escalate the war crisis again, but Russia is not afraid, on the one hand, it may be that it has the confidence to hold the "trump card", and on the other hand, it may be that it knows that it is not alone. However, what Russia can think of, the enemy will certainly think of too. Judging from the current situation, after Russia showed its "red card", China was also targeted, and the gathering of three nuclear-powered aircraft carriers of the US military in the Asia-Pacific region is the best proof of this. Come to think of it, the United States and NATO probably also know the current relationship between China and Russia, and when Russia is in crisis, it is difficult to guarantee that China will not lend a hand, but the US military wants to use three aircraft carriers to scare away China's desire to support Russia, will it be a little too taken for granted?
