In the first year of Zong Guangde of the Tang Dynasty (763 AD), the poet Du Fu was recruited by the imperial court and awarded Jing Zhaogong Cao the post of joining the army, but he did not go to the post. It is said that at that time, the Anshi Rebellion had just been pacified, and Emperor Li Yu was regarded by many people as the lord of Zhongxing, believing that the Tang Dynasty would inevitably regain the glory of the Kaiyuan Dynasty under his leadership. So why did Lao Du, who has always had a bumpy career, give up this great comeback opportunity, but chose to avoid trouble in Shuzhong and hide in the grass hall to watch the world coldly?
Lao Du not only writes poems well, but also has excellent vision.
The answer is probably hidden in his famous seven-character poem:
"Recalling the heyday of the Kaiyuan Dynasty in the past, Xiaoyi still has thousands of rooms. The rice is fat and the corn is white, and the public and private warehouses are abundant. In Lao Du's view, the beauty of the prosperous era in the Kaiyuan period may only be buried in memory or sung in poetry, but it can never be returned. Today's Chang'an is not only a nest of right and wrong, but also a Shura field that devours people's lives, and the only thing the powerless poet can do is to protect himself and wish Li Yu good luck at the same time. There are no jackals on the roads of Kyushu, and the sun rises far away. Qi Su Lu is in the car class, and the male ploughing and the female mulberry are not lost.
The saint in the palace plays the cloud gate, and all friends in the world are glue painted. There has been no catastrophe for more than 100 years, and the uncle and grandson are happy and happy.
How can you hear that a silk is straight for ten thousand dollars, and there is a field to plant grain and shed blood today. The palace of Luoyang burned down, and the temple newly removed the fox and rabbit hole.
I can't bear to ask the elderly, and I am afraid that I will leave from the chaos at the beginning. The ministers are dull and incompetent, and the court remembers Menglu's rank.
Zhou Xuanzhong looked at our emperor and spilled blood Jiang Han's body was weakened. (Reminiscences of the Past 2 (Part 2).
Facts have proved that Lao Du not only writes poems well, but also has excellent vision. Shortly thereafter, Jingzhao really became a mess.
Due to the Anshi Rebellion, most of the Tang army gathered in Hebei, causing the Tubo people to take the opportunity to trap Longyou, Hexi, until the soldiers pointed directly at Chang'an, which attracted the shock of the dynasty. And because the eunuch Cheng Yuanzhen framed Zhongliang and isolated China and foreign countries, all the festivals refused to edict King Qin, which finally caused Chang'an to fall, and Li Yu was forced to flee.
Not counting Zhu Wen's usurpation of the Tang Dynasty, Chang'an has fallen a total of 5 times, but this time in the first year of Guangde, it was trapped in foreign troubles.
However, the fall of the capital of the Tang Dynasty is nothing new, and the Tubo people have no ability to stay in Chang'an, so this seems to be just a disease of ringworm. However, in less than half a year's work, during the pacification of the Anshi Rebellion, he was known as "incomparable", and his influence and appeal in the country and the army were comparable to Guo Ziyi's Daning County King, Shuofang Jiedu's envoy Gu Huai'en rebelled, and also attracted hundreds of thousands of barbarians from all walks of life such as Tubo, Huifu, Tuyuhun, Dangxiang, and Nura, to follow and coax the seedlings, which can be called the world's attack on the Tang Dynasty.
In this case, it is a big joke to fantasize about what "reproduction of Kaiyuan". It can also be seen from this that Lao Du is so discerning.
But it would be a great injustice to put all the blame on the rebellious servant Gu Huai'en.
Just by mentioning the name "Fugu Huai'en", it is easy to make people wonder about the bloodline of this guy. In fact, Fugu Huaien is a native of Tiele, and he is the patriarch of the Nine Surnames of Tiele. In history, Tiele also has several familiar names, such as Ding Ling, Eile, Gaoche and so on. Before the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, the Tiele people were originally the younger brothers of the Turks, and later the strength of the two divisions of Xue Yantuo and Hui became stronger, and they also attacked the Turks under the flickering of Li Shimin, Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, and the fight was inseparable. When the Turks were finished, Li Shimin flickered back to Hui and joined forces with the Tang army to destroy Xue Yantuo, and since then, the Tiele tribes have returned to the Tang Dynasty one after another, and they have been honest Shunmin for nearly a hundred years.
The Uighurs (or Uighurs) were part of Tiele.
Although they have all become obedient people, they still have to be encompassed. For example, the Fugu Huaien family was the hereditary governor of Jinwei Prefecture (near the present-day Altai Mountains), and his grandfather Ge Yanbayan was also awarded the title of General of the Right Military Guard—of course, that was just an honorary title.
After Fugu Huaien inherited the family business, he added the generals of the left leading army to Tongzheng and Tejin, and then followed the two successive Hexi Jiedu Wang Zhonghei and An Sishun to deal with the Western Turks and the Tubo people. During this period, he fought or plotted, and Fugu Huaien showed superhuman military talent, and was regarded as a confidant by Wang and An, and was repeatedly entrusted with important tasks, and gradually gained some reputation.
Therefore, when the Anshi Rebellion broke out, Fugu Huaien was recruited by Guo Ziyi, the discerning Shuofang Jiedu envoy, to serve as the envoy of Zuo Wufeng, and followed the old Guo Nan to fight in the north, and served as the second-in-command of the Shuofang army for a long time. Later, Guo Ziyi was transferred to the court as the prime minister and Li Guangbi to replace him, and Fugu Huaien continued to serve as his assistant. It was not until the second year of the Qianyuan Dynasty (759 AD) that he was crowned the king of Daning County because of his merits, moved to Shi Dafu and Shuo Fang Xingying, and officially became a fiefdom. In the first year of Baoying (762 AD), Li Yu took Li Shi, the king of Yong, as the marshal of the world's soldiers and horses, and decided to launch a final decisive battle against the Anshi rebels. But the problem is that this King Yong, that is, the later Tang Dezong, was only a young and weak spiritual guy at this time, so he could only be a nominal commander, and the one who actually commanded this decisive battle was the deputy marshal and the servant Gu Huaien who was edicted to "lead the armies to camp on festivals". And the old servant Gu also lived up to expectations, in the battle of Luoyang, he completely annihilated more than 80,000 people of the Shi Chaoyi Department, and it took only half a year to level Hebei, completely extinguishing the rebellion that had spread for nearly 10 years.
Because he eventually became a traitor, he didn't even leave a decent portrait.
The reason why the Anshi Rebellion was able to be quelled was that the stormy Tang Dynasty relied on the Shuo Fang Army the most. And the famous generals Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi, who are known as Zhongxing Shuangbi, have successively served as the commanders of Shuo Fangjun. But a fact that is ignored by many people is that it is not Guo and Li who are really always fighting on the front line of the Shuofang army, but Fugu Huaien.
And Fugu Huaien did almost everything for the turn of the Tang Dynasty into safety, and he really did his best, and he died.
The fierce temperament of the servant Gu Huaien is not afraid of life and death in every battle, and he must take the lead, and he almost died on the battlefield several times. For example, the Tang army was defeated in the first battle of Tongguan, and Fugu Huaien would rather die than surrender when there was a big water in front and a chasing army in the back, and finally "hugged the horse to cross" and almost died in the Wei River; His eldest son, Gu Ling, is a fierce general whose martial arts are comparable to the overlord of Western Chu, and he will enter the enemy to fight in every big battle, and he is invincible every time, and he is called "fighting general" by the soldiers. And the biggest famous scene in the life of this "fighting general" is to bite Shi Chaoyi to death, chase and kill 2,000 miles alive, and finally finally take the head, Hebei Suiping; The second son, Gu Jue, was unfortunately captured while fighting against Tongluo (also a member of Tiele, who joined the rebel camp in the Anshi Rebellion) and had to temporarily join the thief in order to save his life. Later, although Fu Gu Jue fled back, Fu Gu hated his betrayal, and actually killed his relatives in righteousness and "beheaded him".
For the sake of the Tang Dynasty, the son said that he would cut it, and as for the daughter, he said that he would send it.
When it comes to harmony, in people's impressions, it is usually the emperor who marries his princess to a foreign country, in fact, this "princess" has a lot of water. Especially in the Han and Tang dynasties, they usually find a distant relative or even a palace maid who can't beat them, and then marry them in the name of a princess. But in any case, the protagonist who is a relative to the family is either a clan daughter who is related to the royal family, or a palace maid who is a royal slave, and it has nothing to do with ordinary people anyway.
But the only two exceptions in history have happened to Gungo Wynne.
In the first year of the Qianyuan Dynasty (758 AD), the Hui Yingwu Khan proposed to Li Heng of Tang Suzong for his son Yidijian. Probably considering ethical considerations (he had just married a daughter to the Yingwu Khan), Li Heng opened a brain hole and asked Fugu Huaien, who was negotiating an alliance with the Hui people, to marry his daughter to Yidi Jian.
Without saying a word, Fugu Huaien gave his daughter to the Hui people (and may have another daughter to marry). Yidi Ken was very satisfied with the Fugu clan and canonized him as a light relative. Even after the death of his relatives Kedun 11 years later, Yidi Jian, who was already the Khan of Mu Yu, asked Tang for marriage again, and also named his surname to marry the daughter of the Fugu family.
However, at this time, the Fugu Huaien family had been beaten into the ranks of traitors in the Tang Dynasty, and they were killed and scattered, and the female dependents were arrested and punished as "young women who lost their footing". However, as a hardcore ally of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yu of the Tang Dynasty did not dare to offend, so he had to be cheeky and canonized the youngest daughter of Fugu Huaien as the princess of Chonghui, and then gave it to Yidijian.
In the entire Anshi Rebellion, a total of 46 people in the Fugu Huaien family were killed in battle, which can be called a full of loyal martyrs. Even if he was later characterized as a traitor in the history books, he could not ignore his loyalty to the Tang Dynasty
"Since the rise of Huai'en, he has fought hard, forty-six people have died in the king's affairs, and the woman has married into the domain, and he has said that he will return to the country, and then collect two capitals, and pacify Henan and the north, and his achievements are incomparable. (Zizhi Tongjian, Volume 223, Tang Ji 39).
The story of the Yang family should be inspired by the deeds of the Fugu Huaien family.
Why is Anshi in chaos, and why is Fugu Huaien rebelling? It has nothing to do with Han Hu, it is the Tang Dynasty itself that has a problem.
There are many people who believe that the Tang Dynasty, which has very obvious Hu characteristics, was because it trusted and appointed Hu people too much, which led to the Anshi Rebellion, making the Tang Dynasty no longer prosperous and prosperous.
There is no truth to this view. Compared with the Song and Ming dynasties, outward-looking dynasties such as the Han and Tang dynasties inevitably had to come into contact with and interact with the Hu people while constantly forging ahead, which in itself was a necessary process for the progress of civilization. The inclusion of all kinds of Hu people into the system was also a correct and effective means adopted by the Han and Tang dynasties to integrate different races. What else should I do? Is it possible that every time a land is conquered, all the local natives are killed or thrown into a separate book? This is obviously a more stupid thing to do - that's basically what Qin did after he destroyed the Six Kingdoms, and I don't need to talk nonsense about what the result is.
The prosperity of the Tang Dynasty itself is the fruit of the interweaving of multiple civilizations.
In fact, there was nothing wrong with the ethnic policy of the Tang Dynasty itself, and the effect was quite positive. For example, after they conquered the Turks, the Tang Dynasty had countless famous generals surnamed Ashina, such as Ashina Sheer, Ashina Simo, Ashina Zhong, Ashina Duzhi, Ashina Daozhen (and Geshuhan, who is not surnamed Ashina, and Insane Sili); After the destruction of Goguryeo, the names of Heizhi Changzhi, Gao Xianzhi, Wang Sili, Wang Maozhong, Shazha Zhongyi, and Quan Namsheng had to be added to this list; After subduing Tiele, the Tang Dynasty added the ...... of virtuous ministers and good generals such as He Li, Fugu Huaien, Li Sizhong, Ye Hu, and Hun ShizhiEven if the Tang Dynasty finally fell to the country, it was at the hands of the authentic Han Zhu Wen, and the only people who were willing to avenge Li Tang were a group of Shatuo people like Li Keyong and Li Cunqing.
Speaking of returning to the Anshi Rebellion, the Sogdian An Lushan and the Turkic (whose blood is not very authentic) Shi Siming are certainly the culprits, but the fundamental reason why their rebellion can make such a big scene is that there is a problem in the Tang Dynasty itself.
Since Li Yuan and Li Shimin's father and son founded the Tang Dynasty, wars have basically broken out in the four realms and outside the territory, and the mainland has been peaceful for more than 100 years, and the ruling class has gradually become corrupt and degenerate. Even in the so-called prosperous era of the Kaiyuan Dynasty, Lao Du's "rice is fat and corn is white, and public and private warehouses are abundant" is just an illusory picture concocted by meat eaters, and behind it are countless peasants who have lost their land are suffering from hunger and cold, and are mourning all over the wilderness. The biggest consequence of large-scale land annexation was the collapse of the Juntian system, which the Tang Dynasty relied on to enrich the country and strengthen the army, forcing Tang Xuanzong Li Longji to replace the government military system with a conscription system and maintain border tranquility with ten feudal towns.
The biggest difference between the conscription system and the government military system is that the "bad people" have replaced the "good family" as the main source of soldiers, which has made the combat effectiveness of the Tang Army appear off a cliff. At the same time, the soldiers of the ten major feudal towns are mainly composed of semi-Sinicized Hu and half-Huhua Han people located in the border areas - they may not be the opponents of the soldiers of the Shengtang Dynasty, but what kind of cavalry, Shenwu army, and Yulin army are almost like adults beating children.
What's even more terrifying is not only the disparity in quality, but also the disparity in quantity.
In the state of "weak cadres and strong branches", even if An Lushan does not rebel, there will be Wang Lushan and ** Mountain rebel.
During the Tianbao period, the total strength of the Tang army was about 600,000, and nearly 500,000 were controlled by the ten major feudal towns, of which An Lushan, who was also the envoy of Fanyang, Pinglu and Hedong, accounted for nearly 200,000. Moreover, An Lushan controlled the two towns of Pinglu and Fanyang for more than ten years, during which he planted cronies and henchmen all over the army.
In this dangerous situation of "weak cadres and strong support", half of the world's elite soldiers are in his hands, even if An Lushan is a Han Chinese, won't he have ambitions?
And this situation is precisely deliberately caused by Li Longji's ministers who have either flour or water in their heads:
"Wenchen is a general, and cowardice is a stone, so it is better to use a cold beard; The Hu people are brave enough to fight, and the Han people are isolated and without a party, and His Majesty is sincere and gracious, and he will be able to die for the court. (Zizhi Tongjian, Volume 216, Tang Ji 32).Even judging from the results, this statement of the traitorous minister Li Linfu cannot be said to be wrong. After all, after the outbreak of the Anshi Rebellion, envoys from all walks of life such as Ge Shuhan, Gao Xianzhi, and Feng Changqing served King Qin one after another, and it had nothing to do with the identity of Han Hu. Even An Sishun, who was of the same clan as An Lushan, refused the recruitment of the rebels and resolutely led the army to quell the rebellion.
Even An Lushan's rebellion can be said to be forced - because of discord with Prime Minister Yang Guozhong, the latter repeatedly played An Lushan will rebel, and even once wanted to summon him into Beijing to kill him. It was precisely under Li Longji's suspicion and Yang Guozhong's repeated stimulation that An Lushan accelerated the process of rebellion.
The officers and soldiers and the rebels were a mixture of Han and Hu - this is a civil war, and it has nothing to do with Han and Hu.
However, Li Tang Junchen was bitten by a snake for ten years and was afraid of the well rope. After the Anshi Rebellion, all the generals regardless of Han and Hu became suspects. Those generals who came from thousands of miles away to lead the army to the king were either commanded by them indiscriminately and were killed, such as Geshuhan; Either simply raise the butcher's knife and kill them all, such as Feng Changqing, An Sishun, and Gao Xianzhi, none of them can run. Even Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi, who are known as the double walls of Zhongxing, are not spared, the former has to be removed from the military as long as he makes some contributions, and he will be pushed out to save the emergency when Datang's life hangs by a thread again; And Li Guangbi, who was known as "the first in Zhongxing for his military exploits" ("New Tang Dynasty Book, Volume 136, Biography 61"), was repeatedly slandered by the eunuchs, and finally died of fear.
Speaking of eunuchs - since civil officials are useless, and military generals are born with original sin, then only eunuchs have become the only new favorites that Emperor Li Tang is willing to trust. So the eunuch soon became a disaster, and finally became the driving force behind the death of the Tang Dynasty together with the feudal town and the friends.
And the final rebellion of Fugu Huaien also stemmed from the suspicion brought by him as a military general and the promotion of eunuchs.
It would be incorrect to say that the rebellion of Fugu Huai'en has nothing to do with his identity as a Hu person. After all, he did not become a loyal minister or pure minister like Guo Ziyi and Yue Fei in the end, but ended up as a traitor, because this semi-Chinese Tiele person did not have as many thoughts as the Han people. As long as he is wronged, he has to ask straightforwardly-
Why?
Fugu Huai'en's loyalty and courage are no less than Yue Fei's, but as a Hu man, he is destined not to have as many scruples as Yue Fei.
Earlier, it was said that Fugu Huaien sacrificed his daughter for the country and made peace with the Hui Khan. It is said that from ancient times to the present, only the emperor's relatives and servants can be sent to make peace, which involves many political taboos. For example, Fugu Huaien married his daughter to Hui Hui and became the old man of Hui Khan, so as a general with heavy troops, will he communicate with foreign countries and betray the Tang Dynasty?
Even today, there are many people who think so, right?
When Li Heng made the decision to let Fugu Huaien marry his daughter and return to Hui, it was not necessarily a temptation for the latter. Otherwise, Li Henggang married a daughter to Yingwu Khan (and also married a niece), and it is not that he can't find a grandchild's daughter to marry Yingwu's son, why do he have to ask Fugu Huaien to marry his daughter?
After all, among the counterinsurgency generals at that time, Guo Ziyi was allowed to be pinched and rounded by Li Heng casually, and Li Guangbi had just been transferred from the Hedong Army to the Shuofang Army, and it was unlikely that anyone who was familiar with the place would be able to do something. Only the servant Gu Huai'en has not only made many meritorious achievements in the Shuofang Army, but also won the hearts of the army, not to mention that he and the allies of the Tang Dynasty, the Hui people, were a family more than a hundred years ago! Will it become the second in An Lushan one day?
But the servant Gu Huaien obviously doesn't have so many fancy intestines - the emperor asked my daughter to return to the family, which is obviously a kind of trust and gift, so let's marry!
As a result, the results of the first "loyalty test" against Fugu Wynn were obviously failing, and various rumors about him began to spread.
Splash dirty water first, and then take the opportunity to seize power - this is the only way for emperors and civil officials to deal with military generals.
In the first year of Baoying (762 AD), Shi Chaoyi, who was already at the end of his rope, sent people to Huifu to lobby Mu Yu Khan, trying to induce Tang Hui to turn against him. Mu Yu Khan, who had already looked down on the Tang people, took the opportunity to send an army of 100,000 to force Guanzhong, which shook the Tang Dynasty and the opposition, but he was powerless to resist and could only negotiate peace. But when others went to talk, Mu Yu Khan ignored it at all, claiming that he was only willing to talk to his dear father-in-law.
This time, Gu Huaien had a heart, and ran to ask Li Yu of the Tang Dynasty for a "death-free iron coupon" before he was willing to talk. As a result, Weng's son-in-law had a very happy conversation, and the Hui people agreed to cooperate with the Tang army and continue to crusade against Shi Chaoyi.
At this time, the black cauldron of the servant Gu Huaien colluding with Hui and wanting to do misdeeds will be even more difficult to shake off. In particular, although the Uighurs played an important role in the process of quelling the rebellion and history, their attitude was arrogant, their military discipline was lax, and they caused trouble everywhere. For example, after the capture of Luoyang, the Hui people plundered the army, killing tens of thousands of people and robbing countless wealth, which caused resentment. However, the Hui people are brave and ordinary people can't afford to provoke them, so the spearhead of suspicion and hatred is pointed at the servant Gu Huaien who is "within the system":
"(Ma) Suiyin said (Li) hugged the jade and said: 'The subordinate and Hui Huiyan, Suiyin has his affection. Today's servant Gu Huai'en is a meritorious party, and Li Huaixian, Zhang Zhongzhi, Xue Song, and Tian Chenghei are all out of Huai'en, and his son is brave and unjust. With the flint, it will be necessary to peek into the west mountain of Taiyuan for chaos, and the public should be deeply prepared. Old Tang Dynasty Books, Volume 134, Lie Biography 84).This hostility eventually went even to the point of undisguised beauty. In the first year of Guangde (763 AD), Fugu Huaien was ordered to escort the Hui people out of the country. When passing through Taiyuan, Hedong Jiedu made Xin Yunjing make up the plot of Fugu Huai'en and Mu Yu Khan's Weng's son-in-law conspiring to seize the city and rebel, not only did he not follow the edict to mobilize the rice grain army, but also closed the city gate, the whole army was on guard, and even forbade Fugu Huai'en to approach.
With the arrogance of the Hui people at that time, Fugu Huaien wanted to rebel early, and he could still be slandered like this?
Fugu Huaien was furious and went to Li Yu to complain, so the latter sent his most trusted eunuch to investigate the truth.
The eunuch sent by Li Yu was called Luo Fengxian. Although the character of this father-in-law Luo is not good, compared to Yu Chaoen and Cheng Yuanzhenlai, he can definitely issue a good person card. However, no matter how good a eunuch is, he often has more than enough things because of his education level, knowledge level, especially greed for life and fear of death, and this Luo Gonggong is a typical example.
Fugu Huaien met Luo Fengxian, the spokesperson of His Majesty the Emperor, as enthusiastic as a motherless child seeing his relatives. After reprimanding Xin Yunjing and pouring out his grievances, he invited Father-in-law Luo to the banquet, but this drink caused a lot of trouble.
We know that our friends on the prairie are very hospitable, especially at the wine table - drinking a person lying on the ground is just a routine operation, and the most frightening thing is to finish one meal and then the next. More than ten years ago, a friend in Inner Mongolia forcibly snatched my car keys in order to let me "drink well", and as a result, it took two days to drink, almost killing half of my life.
It was only after learning what happened to Fugu Wynn that I realized how long this fine tradition is. On the day when Lao Fugu and Grandpa Luo were drinking, it was the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival, and he felt that he was going to celebrate the festival anyway, so let's continue to drink. However, it may be that he was drunk too hard, and Grandpa Luo couldn't stand it a little, so he had to leave the next day. So Fugu Huaien carried forward the fine traditions of the grassland people and secretly ...... Luo's car keysWell, it must have been the mount hidden.
But how does Grandpa Luo know this rule? When he woke up to find that the horse was gone, and remembered the rumors about the rebellion of the servant, he immediately felt that his life was ......in dangerSo Grandpa Luo, who was eager to survive, couldn't take care of anything, hurriedly jumped over the wall, and then ran away on the 11th.
The performance of grassland friends at the wine table has never been "simple and honest".
When he found out, he also knew something bad. Although he caught up with Grandpa Luo and offered gold, silver and horses, and tried desperately to defend himself, it was too late. Luo Feng returned to the court first, and insisted that the servant Gu Huaien had bad intentions and would rebel in the future.
At this point, no one believed that he had no objection, even if he was full of mouths.
The desperate servant Gu Huaien was angry, and while letting his "fighting general" son Guzhuan go to Taiyuan to fight with the old enemy Xin Yunjing, he wrote to Chang'an, and even the emperor scolded him together:
"The minister thought about it quietly, and there were six crimes: the rebellion of Tongluo in the past, and the minister cleared the river meanders for the first emperor, one also; The courtiers were captured by Tongluo, and they had to die and return, and the ministers beheaded them to order the soldiers, and the two also; The minister has two daughters, who marry from afar, for the country and relatives, and pacify the enemy, and the third also; The minister and the man disregarded death and served the country, four also; Hebei is newly attached, and the festival degree makes all hold strong soldiers, and the ministers Fu Sui is on the opposite side, and the five are also; The minister said that he would return to the country, so that he would go to the emergency and be in trouble, and the world would be peaceful, and he would be sent back to the country, and he would be sent back to the country. The minister is responsible for the six crimes, and he is sincerely punished, and he waits for the axe. In the past, there was nothing wrong. If Your Majesty uses this to punish the ministers, how can Wu Zixu save Wu, and the corpse will float on the river, and the doctor will bully the Yue, and finally give the sword to Jishan. Only when you swallow and hate Jiuquan, and you are wronged through the ages, how can you complain! What a complaint! (Zizhi Tongjian, Volume 223, Tang Ji 39).Even a fool can see that Fugu Huai'en is called self-confessing his crimes, but in fact, he is directly pointing at Li Yu's unfair rewards and punishments, and he is loyal and good. Especially when he compares himself to Wu Zixu and literature, isn't Li Yu a husband and a good man? Fugu Huaien was scolded, but the relationship between the monarch and the minister was completely broken, and there was no room for maneuver.
In September of the first year of Yongtai (765), Fugu Huai'en openly raised troops to rebel, and declared that Li Yu had been hanged, which attracted all kinds of hungry wolves from all walks of life, such as Tubo, Huifu, Tuyuhun, Dangxiang, and Nura, who had long coveted the fat of the Tang Dynasty, to commit crimes, which completely confirmed his charge of colluding with foreign countries and conspiring to rebel.
Among the 323 villains listed from the Han to the Ming Dynasty in the 24 histories, there is the name of the "traitor" Gu Huaien.
However, a few days later, Fugu Huaien died inexplicably, and the rebels and the Tubo, Hui and other departments who took the opportunity to take advantage were also quelled by Guo Ziyi, and this rebellion farce was completely quelled.
To say that Li Yu just wanted to force Fugu Huaien to rebel, in fact, it was not like that. In fact, Li Yu had been trying his best to stop the rebellion of Fugu Huaien.
When Luo Fengxian ran back and said that Fugu Huai'en would be opposed, Li Yu's reaction was still to add an official to the latter, worship the Taibao, and give iron coupons, and also put him "in the Taimiao, and the portrait is in the Lingyan Pavilion" ("Old Tang Book, Volume 121, Lie Biography 71").
Just listen to this kind of thing as a joke, and the whole family will be wiped out long ago.
Even when Fugu Huaien was already intensively preparing for a rebellion, Li Yu still sent Pei Zunqing, the squire of the Yellow Gate, and Yan Zhenqing, the imperial historian, to persuade him to calm down, and promised that as long as he was willing to enter the court, he would not be prosecuted. Even after Fugu Huaien refused for fear of being hacked to death as soon as he entered the court, Li Yu gave in again and allowed him to send a son to the court as a hostage.
Why is Li Yu so easy to speak? It's not because he smashed his acting!
He knew very well that he would not rebel. After all, when the Anshi thieves were in full swing, it was the best time for the latter to rebel, but at that time, Fugu Huaien was busy fighting the rebels, and he was righteous and killed his relatives and was for the country and his relatives, so that he was full of loyalty, how could he have the time to think about rebellion? When An Shi was peaceful and Tang Ting's prestige was high, he remembered to make a rebellion, how idiotic did he have to be?
Li Yu's real purpose was to take back the military power in the hands of Fugu Huaien. And he adopted the same routine as Guo Ziyi and Li Guangbi - first let rumors spread among his henchmen, accusing him of being proud of his achievements and having a heart of disobedience, and then Guo and Li were trembling, the other was worried and hateful, and they obediently relieved themselves of military power and entered the court to defend themselves. At this time, Li Yu jumped out again and pretended to be a good man:
"I don't know my morality, I am suspicious, and I am wrong. I am very ashamed, and the public should not be worried. (Old Tang Book, Volume 120, Biography 70).So the kings and ministers got each other, and they each took what they needed, and they were all happy.
A prescription that is curative for Guo Ziyi may be poison if it is changed to Fugu Huaien.
But this trick was used on Fugu Huaien, and the result was a big disappointment.
Why? Because Guo Ziyi is not only a Han Chinese, but also a high-ranking scholar, he has long been clear about Li Yu's political skills. Therefore, he can actively cooperate, and know the gains and losses, and advance and retreat, so that he can not only get a good death, but also have a good reputation before his death. In contrast, the Khitan Li Guangbi had a poor understanding of this, and those Han people still didn't understand it well, which led to the damage to their reputation and finally died of fear. However, Lao Li is a completely Sinicized Hu man after all, and he has been stuffed with loyalty, filial piety and righteousness since he was a child, so he was finally fooled and lame by Li Yu.
But the question is, how can Fugu Huaien understand this? This Tiele man, who was a child and sprinkled joy and hunter heads on the Gobi in the northwest grassland, said that he was a little semi-Chinese, and compared to Li Yu and Guo Ziyi in terms of political acumen, this product is simply a "half-orc".
So when the actor of this good drama directed by Li Yu is Guo Ziyi, it is two old drama bones who are playing, and they don't need scripts or lines at all, just a look can make a heart. In comparison, Li Guangbi's acting skills are a little worse, but he can still stumble and act in a bad play. But what about Grace? He would never have thought that there was such a thing as "acting" in this world, and he would only feel that Li Yu's bells and whistles performance was nonsense and unkind.
In fact, after Li Yu was busy for most of the day and found that a certain half-orc was not in the play at all, he seemed to realize that he was talking to Fugu Huaien with chickens and ducks. That's why he sent his most trusted eunuch Luo Fengxian to try to have a word with Fugu Huaien.
Of course, he didn't look ......like thisBut his political IQ is not much different from that of orcs......
If Luo Fengxian really did this, it is estimated that Fugu Huaien would cry a lot, and then roar angrily - Your Majesty, you said it earlier! Why take off your pants and fart!
Then he will either happily enter the court to enjoy the wealth of the high lord, or he will happily return to his hometown to continue to spread joy and hunt people's heads. In short, according to the consistent performance of this honest and upright Tiele man, he will not be forced to be anxious, he will not be opposed.
If this is the case, then the "ZTE Shuangbi" in the history books is "ZTE Sanying".
It's a pity that Grandpa Luo was poured a stomach full of wine as soon as he arrived at ......the station, and it is a pity that the overenthusiastic servant Gu Huaien stole Grandpa Luo's "car key" again, and it is a pity that Grandpa Luo, who spares his life, was frightened by this
As a result, everything is irreparable after all.
After the death of Fugu Huai'en, Li Yu once sighed that "Huai'en is not reversed, but is mistaken by the left and right", and the history books also praised His Majesty the emperor for "his leniency and benevolence" ("Old Tang Book, Volume 120, Biography 70").
Kuanren is a woolen yarn! Wasn't Fugu Huaien's rebellion caused by Li Yu himself? Besides, if he refuses to speak ill words, I'm afraid it's not that he doesn't want to, but he doesn't dare - after all, the son-in-law of Fugu Huai'en is still looking for excuses everywhere so that he can take a few more bites on the fat of Datang.
Sure enough, 3 years later, Li Yu canonized the youngest daughter of Fugu Huaien as the princess of Chonghui, and then sent it to the Hui people to make peace.
For the emperor, even the dead are valuable and can be put to good use.
