b) Deletion of terms and definitions of telescopic vehicles (see 31);
c) Some terms and definitions have been changed (see8, 2008 edition of9);
d) Added requirements for other types of light sources and minimum luminous intensity for indicator lights on freight container spreaders or grab arms (see 4.)4.2.1);
e) Additional types of light sources and minimum luminous intensity requirements for the indicator light at the operator's position have been added (see 4.)4.2.2)。
This document is equivalent to ISO 15871:2019 "Technical Requirements for Indicator Lights for Container Spreader and Grab Arm Operation of Industrial Vehicles".

Industrial Vehicles for container spreader and grab arm operation.
Indicator Technical Requirements.
1 Scope. This document specifies the requirements for indicator lights used to indicate the status of freight container spreaders and grab arms.
This document applies to:
a) Container spreader with turnlock for handling unloaded and/or laden freight containers;
b) Gripper arm for handling semi-trailers and exchange boxes (grabbing the bottom).
These spreaders and grab arms are equipped on the following vehicles:
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 33. Defined counterbalanced forklift with mast;
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 37. Defined off-road forklift with mast;
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 318 defined non-stacking with low lifting straddle carrier;
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 319 defined stacking with high lifting straddle carrier;
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 320 defined telescopic forklifts;
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 321 defined off-road type telescopic forklifts;
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 323 defined telescopic boom container trucks (reach stackers);
ISO 5053-1:2015 in 324 Defined Counterbalanced Container Handlers.

3 Terms and Definitions.
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
The light "lights on"."on”:“on'
The indicator light continuously emits light at full power.
The light "flashes" light"flashing”:"flashing”
The indicator light is lit at "Illuminated.""It is a luminous state that alternates between "extinguishing" for an equal period of time.
The light "goes out"."off":“off”
The indicator light does not glow.
Non-reflective shield
To prevent scattered light from an unrelated light source, the indicator light could be mistaken for an illuminated device.
Clamped
There is full horizontal contact between the gripping part of the gripper arm and the load.
seated
The gripping part of the gripper arm is in full vertical contact with the load.
Full liter fullyup
The grab arm is lifted to its highest position to ensure that there is a gap on the top surface of the load.
All Drop Fullydown
The grab arm is fully lowered and ready to grab the load.
4 Requirements. 4.1 General.
To reduce the number of indicators required, the indicators operate in three states: "off", "flashing" and "on".
4.2 Freight container spreader.
4.2.1 General.
See 4 for the position of the indicator light4.1。4.2.2 and 42.A table description of 3 is shown in Table 1.
4.2.2 The turnlock has entered the shipping container.
The orange light should be "lit" when all the locks are fully seated in the keyhole of the shipping container. After the shipping container has been lifted, the indicator light should be "turned off".
4.2.3 Turn lock locking Unlock.
When all the turnlocks have been unlocked, the red light should be "on".
When the pivot lock is in either intermediate position, the red light can "flash". The configuration of the red light flashing function is optional.
When all the turnlocks have been fully locked in the keyhole of the shipping container, the green light should be "on".
4.3 Grab arm.
4.3.1 General.
See 4 for the position of the indicator light4.1。4.3.2.1~4.3.2.A list of 4 is shown in Table 2.
In general, it is only necessary to install the indicator light when the operator cannot see the front boom (see 45)。
4.3.2 Grab arm.
4.3.2.1 Front boom full liter.
When both front booms are fully lifted, the white light should be "on".
4.3.2.2 The front boom is fully lowered and fully released.
When both front booms have been fully lowered and fully released, the yellow light should be "on".
4.3.2.3. The front boom is fully lowered and partially clamped.
When both front booms are fully lowered and neither clamped nor released, the yellow light should be "on" and the red light can be "flashed". The red light flashes.
The configuration of the shimmer function is optional.
4.3.2.4 The front boom is fully lowered and fully clamped.
When both front booms are fully lowered and fully clamped into place, the green light should be "on".
4.4 Specific requirements for indicator lights.
4.4.1 Location.
4.4.1.1 The indicator light should be installed in a place where it can be seen when the operator is in the normal operating position. If necessary, an anti-reflective shield can be installed.
4.4.1.2 If the indicator light is installed on the container spreader or on the grab arm, the relative position of each indicator light should be as shown in Figure 1.
The indicator lights installed at or near the operator's position should have the same relative position.
4.4.1.3 The indicator light can be installed repeatedly to show the functional status of each end or four corners of the attachment, and its relative position should be consistent with the function to be displayed.
4.4.2 Size, power, luminous intensity and blinking frequency of the indicator.
4.4.2.1 Indicator light on the freight container spreader or on the gripper.
The minimum area of the indicator should be 1200mm2, and for incandescent lamps, the minimum power should be 20W. Other types of light sources, such as LEDs, should have a minimum luminous intensity of 20cd.
4.4.2.2 Indicator light at the operator's position.
The minimum area of the indicator should be 200mm2, and for incandescent lamps, the minimum power should be 2W. For other types of light sources, such as LEDs, the minimum luminous intensity should be 2cd.
4.4.2.3 Frequency of flashing.
If the flashing indicator is installed, its flashing frequency should be 120 min 180 min.
4.5 Optional additional indicator light on the grab arm.
4.5.1 If necessary, an indicator light can be installed on the gripper arm or at or near the operator's position to indicate the status of the rear boom. At this point, the indicator should comply with 43.2.1~4.3.2.4, and its position should be lower than the indicator light on the front boom or closer to the operator.
4.5.2 Any other indicator shall be determined by consultation between the parties concerned.
