IT Home reported on February 22 that Microsoft confirmed in a blog post that the open-world pirate adventure game "Sea of Thieves" will be available on PlayStation 5 on April 30, and supports cross-platform play like "Grounded". The article also confirms that Survival Confinement, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves will be the first exclusive games to land on other platforms.
IT House noted that as announced at the Nintendo face-to-face conference earlier today, Hidden Shadows will be the first to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with a release date of February 22. Sound Perfect is coming to PlayStation 5 on March 19, while Survival in Confinement is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on April 16.
Sea of Thieves was originally released on Xbox One and PC via the Microsoft Store on March 20, 2018, followed by Steam on June 3, 2020, and Xbox Series on November 10, 2020.
Last week, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft's gaming division, spoke about the future of Xbox, including the issue of equal share. He revealed that four Xbox exclusives will be coming to other platforms, but did not say which ones.
Spencer also confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Greatest Circle and Starfield will remain Xbox exclusives for now, although he hasn't ruled out the possibility of both games coming to PS5.
Spencer also said that Xbox still "supports" physical media, following rumors that Xbox would move to a digital business. Limited Run Games confirmed today that Hidden Fade and Sound Perfect will also be available on physical discs.
