From the end of July to the beginning of August last year, Beijing was hit by a rare heavy rainstorm, and Mentougou District was one of the more severely affected areas. In the aftermath of the disaster, local communications were temporarily disrupted. After nearly half a year, to what extent has the communication infrastructure been restored? As an important part of the post-disaster reconstruction work, how is the communication work there inspected and guaranteed?
Yan Xinhui: The lines on the opposite side were temporarily restored by us, and this cement pole was newly built by us.The yellow engineering vehicle pulled over and parked on the old line of Tanwang Road in Mentougou District. On one side of the car is a high, steep mountain, and on the other side is a bundle of black fiber optic cables on a makeshift telephone pole. Excavators, bulldozers, and concrete power poles that clearly fall to one side or even break from the village from time to time remind us that this area was severely hit by heavy rains about half a year ago. Yan Xinhui, manager of the Mentougou pipeline support grid of Beijing Unicom Pipeline Operation Center, said with emotionReporter: It still looks like there are still traces of being washed by water.
Yan Xinhui: Yes, this is the communication light box that was washed out at that time.
Yan Xinhui: At that time, the river was completely flooded, and the water had already risen to this road. And then all of the lines we see now have been washed away.Reporter: Now I see that it is slowly getting better.
Yan Xinhui: Our hearts are slowly becoming more comfortable!
From the end of July to the beginning of August last year, Typhoon Doksuri moved northward, causing rare heavy rains and floods. caused Beijing, Hebei, Tianjin 55120,000 people were affected to varying degrees, and the direct economic loss was 1,657900 million yuan. Wang Lei, who patrolled the line with Yan Xinhui, has been doing this job for more than 30 years, and he has never encountered such a situation. Recalling the days when he drove to the village in the middle of a torrential rain to repair communications, Wang Lei said:
Wang Lei: Especially in this disaster, I always think that it is easy to cause mudslides or something, and you have to be very careful when driving, and the road is not easy to walk. Originally, at that time, the water in Wangping Village was half a car deep, and when I drove there, I was always afraid that the car would turn off the fire in the water.Reporter: The impression of this rainstorm should be ......
Wang Lei: It's so profound, I've never encountered this thing when I'm so old.
The total length of the backbone optical cable of the Unicom company in Mentougou District is more than 9,000 kilometers, although the density of the cable is not as high as that in the urban area, but these cables that are erected along the mountain road are not easy to inspect. Yan Xinhui said:
Yan Xinhui: It's very difficult for us to make this inspection. One of our farthest places, to Xiaolongmen, start from our Mentougou area, drive up to Xiaolongmen, the whole one-way will take nearly two and a half hours, almost to Hebei, and the whole mountain road is not easy to walk, our colleagues patrol a line, almost a run is a day.
Underneath the pole is a brand new trunk fiber box. After opening, dense yellow cables are inserted into the socket in an orderly manner. It is these that ensure the normal operation of the villagers along the way to make ** and surf the Internet. Yan Xinhui and Wang Lei said:
Wang Lei: This is the trunk cable box, which is separated from the box, which is like a small computer room.Yan Xinhui: There will be more points below.
Wang Lei: There is a junction box, and you have to divide it again when you go to the village.
Yan Xinhui: If there is a problem like this, it may have a big impact.
Reporter: Who will be affected?
Yan Xinhui: For example, this line may affect the broadband Internet access of more than 20 households, so we have to take a look at this. The trunk line is very important, we will do a test on a regular basis, we have this equipment.
Reporter: With an electronic device, huh?
Yan Xinhui: Yes, you can take a look at the whole attenuation of our optical cable.
The lineman carries all kinds of line patrol tools on the car, which can urgently deal with which line is damaged, which fiber optic cable box is not closed, etc. But the most important thing is actually to rely on the eyes of the lineman who have been trained over the years to find problems. Over the years, Wang Lei has not only become an old driver on the winding mountain road, but also developed the habit of "loving to join in the fun". In his words, the so-called "liveliness" on the road often means the emergence of hidden dangers.
Wang Lei: It's all "occupational diseases", for example, when you usually rest, walk, or something, when you see someone working on the road, you can't help but go up and ask, what are you going to do here? Sometimes I will tell them, where there is a line, you all pay attention to your work, leave a **, and communicate in advance when the time comes, it's all like this.
Residents' demand for networks and network quality is also increasing. Reflected in the work of the lineman, there are more points to be taken, and the speed of dealing with problems is faster.
Yan Xinhui: Now everyone is unbearable to be unable to access the Internet, and the requirements for this network are relatively high, so the pressure on us to maintain it is also relatively great. Like our emergency repair time limit, we should repair it within three hours at the earliest, but in some special circumstances, the location is far away, the time limit will be a little longer, and we generally do not exceed 24 hours at the latest. The Spring Festival is approaching, and Yan Xinhui and his colleagues have bundled and sorted out more than 1,000 kilometers of temporary cables along Miaofeng Mountain in Mentougou District in advance. After the beginning of spring, the temporary cable in this area in charge of Yan Xinhui is expected to be moved to a safer formal cable facility with the overall reconstruction work, and the communication of the local people will be more guaranteed.
Yan Xinhui: Now that all the temporary communications after the disaster have been restored, the main problem is that the security of the network is not enough, and our next focus is to restore all the temporary lines to formal lines and optimize the overall quality.Reporter Editors: Chen Changsong, Chen Xinyu (intern).
