When reading "Mao Xuan", did you write a lot of reading notes and excerpt a lot of sentences? That's what I did when I read it, with lots of annotations on almost every article and time spent copying down the golden sentences in the book.
After copying some sentences, it will take a long time to take them out and read them, so as to remind yourself that you have an extra perspective to think about when doing things. When you use "Mao Xuan" a lot, you will find that the existing sentences are closest to the essence of things, such as the following three sentences.
1. Who are our enemies? Who are our friends? This question is the first question of the revolution.
This sentence comes from "Analysis of All Classes in Chinese Society", and it is also one of the classic sentences in "Mao Xuan", I wrote an article "Mao Xuan" The first sentence may not be read by most people", probably made it clear. It's not just about the importance of identifying friend and foe in relationships.
There are also two opposing views on all kinds of relationships, in everything and on the same thing, and the good side is seen as one's friend, and the bad side is regarded as one's enemy.
This identifies all aspects of people and things, and when making choices in the future, we will know how to choose the most suitable one. I think that's the way to understand the nature of things.
2. All practical workers must be investigated downward.
This sentence comes from the preface and preface of the "Rural Survey", which is an extension of "without investigation, there is no right to speak", and it says that if you want to understand the truth of things, you must go deep into the actual work and investigate downward. Only by conducting investigations can we integrate theory with practice.
In fact, from ancient times to the present, people have paid attention to the role of practical investigation, and you can see that "what you get on paper is shallow, and you never know that you have to do it" is what it means.
For example, if you make a product plan, you don't go to the front line to see how its actual sales are, and what feedback customers have, just make a decision to do it, and the loss will be very large. Only by going deep into the actual work can we understand the truth of the matter, which is the essential requirement of doing things.
3. All thoughts that are based on and conform to objective facts are correct thoughts, and all actions that are based on correct thoughts are correct actions. We must carry forward this kind of thinking and action, and we must develop this kind of conscious initiative.
This sentence is from "On Protracted War", which talks about how important objective facts and correct thinking are. Because only thoughts based on objective facts are correct thoughts, and only actions based on correct thoughts are correct actions.
What's the use of knowing this? It teaches you to understand the actual situation before doing anything, and to think about problems and make decisions based on the actual situation.
Only then can you really solve problems and get things done. I think this is the most essential way to analyze and solve problems.
When you understand these three sentences in "Mao Xuan", you will learn how to deal with interpersonal relationships, how to understand the truth of things, and how to think about problems and make actions based on objective facts, which makes your thinking depth go one step further.
Slowly, you will find that these words are not simple, but the real truth of being a person and doing things, if you use them in life, you will know that they are the three sentences closest to the essence. (Wen Wei Haisheng).
