The rainy weather that lasted for more than ten days made the humidity in the greenhouse heavier, resulting in the dead leaves of many melon seedlings transplanted or planted in the suburbs. In order to rescue these "sick" melon seedlings, many melon farmers took advantage of the good weather to take preventive measures.
In a greenhouse melon field in Xinbei Village, Shuyuan Town, melon farmer Mao Yaoming is thrashing melon and watermelon seedlings in the field to remove sick dead leaves, and at the same time open the shed for ventilation to reduce the moisture in the greenhouse. Due to the continuous rain some time ago, the water vapor inside and outside the greenhouse is heavier, and the melon seedlings and watermelon seedlings in the greenhouse have leaf spot disease and leaf blight, which affects the growth of melon seedlings, not to mention, some branches also appear rotten mildew, if measures are not taken in time, the melon seedlings in the entire greenhouse may be affected. Therefore, yesterday it was rare to have a sunny day, and he plunged into the greenhouse, pruning and sprinkling the damaged melon seedlings in time.
In another cucumber grower in the same village, the melon seedlings on 6 acres of land also showed yellow leaves, and the farmers took advantage of the good weather to supplement foliar fertilizer to increase the disease resistance of the melon seedlings. Ms. Wan, a melon farmer in Xinbei Village, Shuyuan Town, introduced that many cucumber seedlings in the field had downy mildew and anthracnose, and some fertilizer was sprayed at the same time.
The reporter also learned from other surrounding farmers that due to the long-term rain, the watermelon, melon, cucumber seedlings and even some vegetable seedlings planted by it have different degrees of rotten roots and yellow leaves, which affects their normal growth. In particular, some melons that are planted early are currently in the critical stage of pollination, and bad weather directly affects pollination and fruiting.
In view of this bad weather conditions, professionals remind the majority of melon farmers and vegetable farmers: during the preparation for spring ploughing, when encountering bad weather and climate, we should pay attention to ventilate the greenhouse in time, and actively intervene in the field environment, increase the application of foliar fertilizer or ground fertilizer, strengthen the seedlings and protect the roots, improve the disease resistance of crops, and let the seedlings in the field survive the difficult period of growth to meet the next harvest period.
