Berlin, January 11 (Reporter Ma Xiuxiu) According to data released by the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New ** (Bitkom) on the 10th, the turnover of German information technology and telecommunications companies is expected to increase by 44% to 224.3 billion euros. As a result, the ICT sector will grow three to four times faster than the overall economic growth.

The data shows that the turnover of the ICT industry increased by 20% to 215 billion euros. The growth in turnover also had a positive impact on the labor market. According to Bitkom data, the number of employees in the industry is expected to increase by 3 by 202460,000 people, reaching 13680,000 people. In 2023, the industry has created 280,000 new jobs.

The Digital Index, developed by Bitkom and the Ife Institute for Economic Research (IFO), shows that the business environment in the digital economy is at odds with overall economic trends. In December, the IFO overall economic index went from minus 94 points to minus 112 points, while the digital economy index went from 60 pips rose to 98 o'clock. This positive development is also reflected in the investment plans of information and communication technology companies. For example, 22% of companies intend to increase investment in 2024, 61% plan to keep spending unchanged, and 17% will have to "apply the brakes". The investment will be mainly in software and R&D.

Marc Rohr, Director of the Department of Digital and Service Economy at Germany Trade & Invest, said that the strong unabated growth of the German digital economy in line with the overall economic trend is a testament to the solid foundation and growing demand for digital solutions, especially in the field of artificial intelligence and system infrastructure, which is an important basis for international investors to use Germany as a business location.
