TechInsights Q4 global smartphone shipments reached 31.7 billion, a year on year rebound of 7 1

On February 2, the latest research by TechInsights pointed out that in Q4 of 2023, global smartphone shipments will be **7 year-on-year1%, up to 31.7 billion units, ending the past nine consecutive quarters of sluggishness. Apple tops the global smartphone market with a 23% market share, Samsung comes in second with a 17% market share, Xiaomi, Transsion and Vivo are in third to fifth place, followed by OPPO (OnePlus), Honor, Lenovo-Motorola, Huawei and Realme.

For the whole year of 2023, global smartphone shipments will be 1151.6 billion units, down 39%。According to TechInsights, the market recovery has been largely boosted by the normalization of inventory levels, improved end-user demand, and the new product launch cycle of major companies such as Apple in Q4 2023. India and other emerging markets led the recovery with strong performance. The Chinese and North American markets remain in the doldrums, but have improved from previous quarters. Western Europe has remained stable amid economic headwinds. Samsung ranks first with a 20% market share, followed by other Chinese brands such as Apple and Xiaomi. For the full year of 2024, global smartphone shipments will increase by 3% year-over-year.
