In the early morning of August 8, 1981, a fighter plane was lowered from Fuzhou Airport, but it was not a warhawk of the Chinese mainland air force, but an F-5F fighter of the Taiwan Air Force.

After the plane stopped, a radiant young pilot stepped out of the cabin. He was Huang Zhicheng, the ace pilot of the Kuomintang Air Force at the time, and the flight assessment officer of the Fifth Wing.

The F-5F two-seater fighter he flew is of high research value for the Air Force of our mainland. After Huang Zhicheng returned from the uprising, he not only received a reward of nearly 650,000 yuan, but was also awarded the rank of colonel for his outstanding performance at the award ceremony in 1988.

In 1995, he was promoted to the rank of Major General of the Air Force. So, why did Huang Zhicheng fly from Taiwan to revolt and return to the mainland? It all started with his experience in the military.

Huang Zhicheng was born in Taiwan, China, to a family of pilots, but his father died when he was four years old, and his mother carried the burden of the whole family alone. However, his siblings were very good, the second brother became a major in the Air Force, and his sister married a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force.

This family atmosphere deeply influenced Huang Zhicheng, who aspired to become an excellent pilot since he was a child, and also had the desire to return to his parents' hometown in the mainland.

His mother is the main ** of this wish.

Huang Zhicheng's father died when he was young, and he grew up under the careful care of his mother. His mother was forced to flee to Taiwan due to the defeat in the war, so she has always missed her hometown and relatives on the mainland.

However, due to the cruelty of reality, she could only silently tell when she missed it, and this accumulated longing finally buried the desire to return to the mainland in Huang Zhicheng's heart.

This desire did not disappear with the passage of time, but as he grew older, his longing for the mainland became stronger and stronger. Most of the Kuomintang troops had retreated from the mainland, so they had a special affection for the mainland.

Many Kuomintang soldiers and officers who cared about the motherland could not bear it and revolted and returned to the mainland. However, due to the blockage of the Taiwan Strait, neither the army nor navy can easily approach the mainland, while the air force has more freedom of movement due to the restrictions of fighter jets, and it is easier to fly to the mainland than other branches of the military.

Huang Zhicheng was born in an air force family, and since he was a child, he was influenced by his mother's upright thoughts, and has special feelings for the mainland. However, in the extremely ** environment of the Taiwan Air Force, his straightforward personality led to narrow interpersonal relationships, and he repeatedly quarreled with people for the interests of the nation and was isolated.

In this case, he received courage from those who had returned to the mainland after a successful uprising and was determined to revolt. He learned that from the beginning of the War of Liberation to the end of the 80s of the last century, as many as 200 Kuomintang pilots flew 145 planes and chose to abandon darkness and turn to the light and return to the mainland of the motherland.

These deeds inspired Huang Zhicheng's determination, and he decided to fight for his homeland.

1.In the process of uprising and surrender, Du Daoshi experienced a thrilling battle. Since the PLA did not know his willingness to surrender, the ground firepower has been directed at him.

At the same time, the Kuomintang Air Force also discovered his defection and fiercely pursued and attacked him. However, due to Du Daoshi's superb skills, he finally succeeded in taking the plane with more than 200 bullet holes, landing safely on the ground and returning to the embrace of the motherland.

2.On October 16 of the same year, Jiang Fukao, Zhou Zhennan, Shi Jianru, and Chen Shangming, who belonged to the 10th Brigade of the Kuomintang Air Force, took off from Taiwan's Chiayi Airport in a C-47 transport plane.

On the way, they were constantly troubled by bullet holes hit by Kuomintang air force fighters, but they persevered to the end and finally succeeded in landing in Nanjing, realizing their wish to surrender.

3.On the 17th, at Taiwan's Okayama Airport, Wei Changshu, who was still a Kuomintang flight cadet at the time, took advantage of the air force's lunch break to forcibly seize an AT-6 training plane to break through the defense, and finally successfully landed at Fuzhou Airport, realizing his wish to surrender to the uprising.

On January 3, 1950, an AT6 trainer plane made a forced landing on Zhangpu Beach in Fujian Province.

On the 9th, another AT6 trainer plane landed at Chao'an Airport in Guangdong, and Huang Yonghua, who took off from Tainan Airport, also chose to revolt. On March 27, 1951, two insurgents, pilot Dai Zijin and mechanic Shi Dianwen, successfully hijacked a B25 heavy bomber and flew to Jiangwan Airport in Shanghai.

In 1953, Ye Gang, Sun Zhiqiang, Tao Kaifu and Qin Baozun rebelled successively and piloted AT6 aircraft. In 1954, two more aircraft revolted, one of which was an AT6 and the other a B25.

The courage and determination of these pilots is a testament to their deep love for their country and people.

Before Huang Zhicheng's defection, 17 Taiwan Air Force planes had already returned to the mainland, and the various methods of the uprising of these predecessors provided Huang Zhicheng with many inspirations and possibilities.

Although they had different paths and ideas, Huang Zhicheng was shocked and saddened by the speech of Wu Yue, then deputy commander of Taiwan's Air Force, at a Spring Festival party of senior air force generals.

Holding the sword presented by the Americans, Wu Yue said to the soldiers in the audience: "As long as you can shoot down the plane on the mainland, I will give you this sword." The applause was thunderous, but only Huang Zhicheng did not applaud, he felt unbelievable and even a little regretful.

After the Wuyue Gala, the pilots in the wing fell into the fantasy of "** holding the sword". Upon returning to the station, the wing organized a special seminar to discuss the topic.

However, Hwang was very disgusted by the topic and was irritated by the irritation of the team. At the seminar, he directly raised his own question: "If I shoot down the planes of the Soviet Union, Vietnam and Japan, will he give me a sword?"

Why do you have to take down the MiGs on the mainland to get that sword? As soon as Huang Zhicheng's words came out, the originally lively discussion immediately became silent. After the boss reacted, he directly scolded Huang Zhicheng in public, criticizing him for "improper thinking" and "problematic attitude".

Although Huang Zhicheng was scolded, he firmly believed that his idea was not wrong, but that the other pilots had problems. As a result of this situation, Huang Zhicheng's life in the Air Force became more and more difficult, and his dislike for the Kuomintang became more and more disgusted.

At that time, Lin Xianshun also had the same idea, and made many related remarks because he was dissatisfied with the Kuomintang. The two came together because they shared the same philosophy.

After Lin Xianshun and Huang Zhicheng communicated privately, they decided to carry out a "flying uprising". However, the Taiwan authorities have taken strict precautions against an uprising, and it is almost impossible to complete the uprising under close supervision.

They can only wait for the best time. At the beginning of 1981, after Huang Zhicheng's friend Lin Xianshun was transferred, he became lonely and sad, and vowed to revolt and fly back to the mainland.

At 8 a.m. on August 8, 1981, Huang Zhicheng began training and assessing young pilots. He boarded the front seat of the F-5F aircraft numbered 5361, and the lieutenant pilot Xu Qiulin, who had been tested by him, immediately boarded the plane and sat in the back seat of him.

Before the plane took off, Huang Zhicheng made a "V" gesture to the ground crew with a smile on his face, but the ground crew did not know. Soon after, the F-5F fighter plane piloted by Huang Zhicheng took off from Taoyuan Airport under the eyes of everyone.

After the test, the F5F uprising fighter Xu Qiulin piloted by Huang Zhicheng was in the air. Huang Zhicheng suddenly said to Xu Qiulin in a commanding tone: "On the cover of your dark cabin, I want to fly a stunt." ”

Huang Zhicheng hurriedly turned off the radio on the plane, drove the plane headlong into the air, and then flew at a low altitude of less than 20 meters above the sea surface in order to evade Taiwan's radar and radio detection.

Immediately afterwards, Huang Zhicheng flew the plane to the mainland. Although Huang Zhicheng had the words of "flying a stunt" first, Xu Qiulin soon noticed that something was wrong, so he hurriedly asked Huang Zhicheng: "Instructor, what are you going to do?"

Are we going to fly to **? Huang Zhicheng did not answer him, but continued to fly towards Fuzhou with a wide throttle. Seeing this, Xu Qiulin felt bad in his heart, so he immediately opened the dark cabin cover, and then he found that the ground was the Wulong River Bridge in Fujian, so he immediately shouted loudly: "Instructor, we have entered the mainland, turn around quickly!" ”

At this point, Huang Zhicheng no longer did anything to hide, he said to Xu Qiulin in a very calm and calm tone: "I am here to revolt, I will not turn around, you should come with me." ”

But Xu Qiulin immediately refused, and at the same time said: "I can't go, my parents and daughter-in-law who haven't passed through the door are in Taiwan, I have to go back!" ”

Huang Zhicheng understood and supported Xu Qiulin's choice, and although the plane's fuel gauge was almost exhausted, he still resolutely turned the nose of the plane and flew towards Dongyi Island. Huang Zhicheng's move is extremely risky, because Taiwan regards Dongyin Island as an "outpost", and the island has troops stationed and air defense**.

Huang Zhicheng rashly broke in, and he will face the danger of being shot down after being exposed. However, he insisted on sending Xu Qiulin to Dongyin Island and allowing him to skydive safely. Seeing Xu Qiulin land safely, Huang Zhicheng turned the nose of the plane and continued to fly to Fuzhou.

Hsu Chiu-lin was hyped up when he returned to Taiwan for refusing Huang Zhicheng's invitation to revolt, and was seen as a positive image and rewarded. Relying on this propaganda, Xu Qiulin was soon reused in the Taiwan Air Force, and was finally promoted to the rank of colonel commander.

Although Huang Zhicheng risked his life to send Xu Qiulin back to Taiwan, Xu Qiulin did not express gratitude. He was even full of resentment towards Huang Zhicheng, and whenever someone mentioned him, Xu Qiulin's words were full of dissatisfaction.

After seeing Xu Qiulin off, Huang Zhicheng's plane ran out of fuel and could not fly soon after it flew to Fujian. He then glided to the Fuzhou airport, where he successfully landed at the request of the People's Liberation Army.

Huang Zhicheng's uprising brought tremendous benefits to the mainland, and China's air force equipment was extremely backward first- and second-generation aircraft, but the one and a half planes brought by Huang Zhicheng were sold for as much as $5.5 million in the international market at that time.

More importantly, the plane is equipped with two turbojet engines, and the wingtips are also equipped with two "Sidewinder" air-to-air missiles, etc., Huang Zhicheng's uprising has brought tremendous help to China's air force's scientific and technological research, and his achievements are indelible.

Huang Zhicheng, the focal point of the commendation meeting of the Fujian Military Region, changed into the uniform of the People's Liberation Army on August 12, 1981, and looked particularly energetic. At the commendation ceremony, he was awarded 650,000 yuan, an amount that was very rare in China in 1981, which fully proves that Huang Zhicheng has made important contributions to the country.

On August 19, 1981, Huang Zhicheng's letter of appointment was delivered, and Major General Zhang Tingfa, secretary of the Air Force Party Committee, personally read out the appointment, making him vice president of an air force aviation school, a position equivalent to deputy division commander in the army.

On October 4, 1981, Huang Zhicheng was received by the national leaders, who spoke highly of him, affirmed his patriotic behavior, and praised it for its positive impact.

From left to right: Deng Yingchao, ** Huang Zhicheng Although Huang Zhicheng was promoted after the uprising, he knew that this uprising would implicate his relatives in Taiwan, so he felt deeply guilty about his family.

After returning to the mainland, he set out to visit his former home, looking for the hometown that his mother had always missed. Huang Zhicheng first went to his mother's hometown, Chengdu, he remembered that his mother often mentioned her hometown, and every time she talked about her hometown, her mother's eyes were always full of sorrow of longing, and even sighed that if she couldn't go back to her hometown, then she would take her ashes back for burial when she died.

Huang Zhicheng came here not only to fulfill his wish, but also to help his mother fulfill part of his heart's desire. In his mother's hometown, Huang Zhicheng met the three aunts that his mother often mentioned.

Although the aunts had never seen him since childhood, they were not strangers.

After helping his mother realize his homesickness, Huang Zhicheng set foot in his father's hometown of Hengxian County, Guangxi. Like the warm reception of the villagers, Huang Zhicheng was also deeply moved, and before leaving, he left a donation of 10,000 yuan for the children in the village, hoping to provide a better environment and opportunities for their education.

And most of the 650,000 yuan he received was also used by him to support the construction and development of the country. In 1982, Huang Zhicheng found his love, his wife Ma Hong was a flight attendant, the two fell in love freely, and after spending a few months of sweet time, they tied the knot on the National Day.

After getting married, they had a daughter, and Huang Zhicheng lived a happy family life.

During the Spring Festival in 1989, Huang Zhicheng's friend Lin Xianshun was inspired by him and resolutely decided to fly an airplane to revolt. Although as many as 12 Taiwanese Air Force planes pursued them all the way, Lin Xianshun successfully escaped the pursuers with his bravery and resourcefulness, becoming the last Taiwanese Air Force pilot to successfully revolt so far.

Soon after returning to the mainland, Huang Zhicheng immediately communicated with Lin Xianshun**, and the two talked freely in **, and Huang Zhicheng expressed his appreciation for Lin Xianshun's courage. Lim Hyun-soon also said that Huang Zhicheng gave him the courage to revolt, which made him very grateful.

Huang Zhicheng was promoted to major general of the Air Force because of his merits, and later served as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. However, his uprising caused slander and rumors in Taiwan, saying that he was "detained" and "placed under house arrest" by the mainland to the point of "regretting the uprising and wanting to return to Taiwan".

However, with Huang Zhicheng's promotion in the mainland, these rumors have been broken one by one. In an interview, Huang Zhicheng resolutely denied Taiwan's claims, saying: "I have never said on any occasion that I regret the uprising, and these rumors are all fabricated by Taiwan** out of thin air." ”

His firm stance and true situation have debunked the rumors and made more people understand and recognize his courage and loyalty.

After retiring from the military, Huang Zhicheng founded the "Cross-Strait Pingcheng Aerospace Investment Company" and the "Cross-Strait Flight School" to contribute to the future well-being of compatriots on both sides of the strait. The mainland did not publicize Huang Zhicheng's uprising, but instead saw it as an opportunity for "reunification", which was in stark contrast to the tone of the past that directly attacked the reactionary brutality of the Kuomintang.

Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Evening News" also published an editorial on this, saying that the mainland's handling of the matter is obviously a step higher.
