Lao Niu started shooting birds in the first half of 2023, looking back on the past year, he has traveled a lot of roads, most of which are detours, especially for shooting birds, a lot of silver has been wasted.
I went to Laos at the beginning of the year, not specifically to shoot birds, but by the way, I photographed starling, a common rookie in Southeast Asia.
Later, when I went to Qinghai, Gansu Province, when Qinghai Lake was still frozen, I only saw magpies, and I didn't see any other birds.
After that, I began to learn to shoot birds in the surrounding parks of Kunming, the Golden Temple, the Black Dragon Pond, the Tanhua Temple, the Green Lake, and the Grand View Tower, among which the Golden Palace went more often. At this time, they are all trying to shoot the white-eared lovesick bird, practicing the flying version, and the flying version of the chickadee and the old finch are also very happy.
After that, the surrounding Huanglongjing Bird Pond shoots red peppers, Dianzhong Bird Pond shoots big cui and small cui, and Shuanglong Bird Pond shoots red-billed blue magpies, which feel good. It's a pity that because of the reluctance to pay, some other bird ponds around the area have not yet had time to go, and in 2024, I will slowly go to a few more bird ponds to shoot birds.
After the bird pond in Kunming, Lao Niu went to Xishuangbanna for the Songkran Festival, and returned to shoot birds in Mangba in Pu'er for three days, which was a feast of bird shooting, and harvested a lot of wonderful bird pictures.
Mangba shoots birds, the bigger ones are white pheasants and original chickens, there are a lot of beautiful ones, there are green-winged doves, blue-green magpies, orange-bellied leaf bulbuls, longevity belts, white-fronted swallowtails, a lot of them, if you are interested, you can take a look at the travelogue of the old Niu Mangba birds.
Mangba went to Yuanjiang on the return trip to shoot birds, but unfortunately the time was wrong, and the location was wrong, and the chestnut-throated bee-eater was not photographed.
After that, I went to Yuanjiang twice and got enthusiastic guidance from the locals, so I was able to take a lot of wonderful pictures of the chestnut-throated bee-eater.
When Yuanjiang returned, he detoured to Yilong Lake in Shiping, and photographed the beautiful phoenix pheasant on the water, as well as the purple pheasant eating lotus pod, which was very exciting.
For a period of time, Kunming's Liangwang Mountain was very lively to shoot wine red red rosefinch, and Lao Niu also went there once, "What birds can be photographed in Liangwang Mountain" and "Liangwang Mountain Treasure Hunt: Wine Red Vermilion Bird Watching Event" is a record this time.
Kunming Zoo, especially the bird park and the water bird pond, is also the place where the old cow often shoots birds, and later also came to the Yuantong Temple to take pictures of the copper blue flycatcher and the noisy cuckoo in front of the hall. The black short-legged bulbul, white bird, red finch, red-winged serval, and wren in the bird park are all remarkable, and the back of the bead-necked turtledove is also very interesting. The black swan and pelican are also very outstanding, especially the pelican fluttering its wings and flying, which is beautiful and amazing.
After that, they often take wild photos in the wetlands around Dianchi Lake, and the Dongda River and Baiyukou are the places where the old cows are most often active. The gray-headed wheat pheasant patted by the white fish, the embroidery-eyed bird on the mille-feuille red, the sunbird on the red dragon's teeth, and the bitter bird courtship photographed by the Dongda River, the hoopoe brooding, and the stilted sandpiper foraging for food, are all impressive and fresh in memory.
