DHL Global Forwarding expands its operations to Smartist, Turkish Cargo's cargo facility at Istanbul Airport
Istanbul, Bonn- To strengthen bilateral relations, DHL Global Forwarding, the air and sea freight specialist of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, and Turkish Airlines' air cargo brand, Turkish Airlines, have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and the IATA World Cargo Symposium opened in Istanbul on April 25. The collaboration between the two global air cargo providers will not only further improve each other's operational efficiency, but will also enhance Istanbul's potential as a leading global logistics hub.
Under the MoU, DHL Global Cargo will utilize Turkish Cargo's large cargo facility, Smartist, located at Istanbul Airport, as one of its global hubs. This will significantly increase the volume of air cargo handled through Istanbul. Turkish Cargo's intercontinental air cargo network, combined with Turkey's unique geographical advantages, enables Turkish Cargo's extensive expertise and advanced operational capabilities at Istanbul Airport to support the DHL Global Forwarding global hub concept.
