On the eve of the Spring Festival, the Changning District Working Committee of Shanghai Municipal Committee of Changning District carried out the New Year condolences work, and came to the homes of some preferential care recipients in Changning District to extend sincere holiday greetings and high respect to them.

"We've come to see you! On the afternoon of January 31, led by Xu Li, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Association for Supporting the Army, Gu Hua, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Association for Supporting the Army and Director of the Publicity and Mobilization Department, Zhang Changdong, Captain of the Volunteer Service Corps of the Shanghai Association for Supporting the Army, and Liu Ying, Chairman of the Working Committee of Ning District, came to the home of Wang Congfa, a martyr in Huayang Road Street, and sent condolences and holiday blessings to Wang Cong.

It is understood that Wang Congfa's father, Wang Yindong, died in 1946 and was assessed as a martyr. Wang Congfa himself enlisted in the army in 1949, participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in 1951 and 1953, was awarded two third-class meritorious services, retired in 1990, and was awarded the rank of colonel.

During the conversation, the condolence group listened carefully to Wang Congfa's military experience, learned about his recent life and health condition, listened to his heart, and told him to take care of his health, and to report to the community at any time when he encounters difficulties, so as to send his concern to the hearts of the martyrs' families. Wang Congfa expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the condolence group, "Thank you for visiting me every New Year's holiday, remembering me, and making me feel the warmth of family." ”

Previously, the Working Committee of Changning District, which supports the army and has visited the families of Li Xuying, a martyr in Chengjiaqiao Street, and Wei Baohua, a martyr in Beixinjing Street. Li Xuying's father participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan, and she was only 2 years old when her father died, so she has few memories of her father, only remembering that the conditions were very difficult. Wei Baohua's son enlisted in the army in 1982 and died heroically in the battle against Vietnam against Xiaojianshan.

Everywhere they went, the condolence group would have a cordial conversation with the people they visited, ask them in detail about their health, life and family conditions, and thank them for their contributions to the country. Many martyrs said, "Thank you very much to the party and the city (district) to support the army and give preferential treatment to the family, and the street and community for the care of the recipients, so that the lives of the martyrs are getting better and better." For example, now we regularly arrange door-to-door cleaning of air conditioners and other life services every year, which effectively solves the problem of inconvenience for the elderly. ”

On the eve of the Spring Festival, in addition to continuing to carry out the work of condolences to the families of martyrs, the Working Committee of Changning District, Shanghai will also carry out the work of giving respectful condolences to the families, distributing letters of condolence, and presenting calendars, so as to create a good socialized atmosphere for supporting the army.
