Yuan Xiuying, born in Zherong County, Fujian Province in 1927 (1929), is a famous folk paper-cutting artist in China and a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage Zherong paper-cutting. She is known for her exquisite paper-cutting skills and contributions to the inheritance of traditional culture, and is known as the winner of the "Chinese Paper-cutting Lifetime Achievement Award".

He was born in Zherong County, Fujian Province in 1927 (or 1929).

* When he was young, he was influenced by his grandmother and began to learn paper-cutting.

At the end of the 70s of the 20th century, the Zherong County Party Committee and the county began to excavate, rescue and protect Zherong folk art, and Yuan Xiuying was excavated as a paper-cutting expert.

In 2009, Zherong paper-cutting, as a part of Chinese paper-cutting, was included in the "Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO.

In 1995, her work "Hundred Butterflies" won the title of "Chinese Qiaonu" in the "First Chinese Qiaonu Handicraft Grand Prix in Beijing".

In 2007, his work "Hundred Sons" won the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the 3rd International Paper-cutting Art Festival.

In 2009, he was named by the Ministry of Culture as the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting project.
