A few days ago, the opening ceremony of the 2024 "Into the Computer World" winter camp and the first lesson of the Heilongjiang Provincial Middle School Student Talent Program were held at Harbin Institute of Technology. Zhang Dapeng, academician of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences and the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Hu Shimin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave the "first lesson" to the students who participated in the event.

100 students from all over the country went to Harbin Institute of Technology in three days to experience the scientific research process, stimulate scientific interest, improve innovation ability, and establish scientific aspirations by listening to expert master reports, computer workshops, visits, face-to-face meetings with experts, and face-to-face activities with previous outstanding campers.

On the same day, a research symposium on the computer discipline of the Computer Discipline Working Committee of the Middle School Student Talent Program was also held.

According to reports, in 2013, under the joint promotion of the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, together with the Provincial Department of Education, relied on Harbin Institute of Technology to launch the implementation of the middle school student talent plan. Up to now, a total of 436 middle school students with excellent character and learning have walked into Harbin Institute of Technology, and participated in scientific research, academic seminars and scientific research practices under the guidance of 24 well-known experts in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science, intuitively understood the current situation and frontier direction of discipline development, experienced the scientific research process in the field of basic disciplines, participated in the scientific practice of discovering, analyzing and solving problems, and stimulated a strong interest in basic disciplines.
