Xu Wei sang in the song:"Life is not only about what is in front of you, but also about poetry and distance. ”

Why can poetry go hand in hand with distance? Professor Zhang Jing of Nankai University in the new class of station B, starting from the etymology of "poetry" and "holding", to the two small things encountered in life, ** the answer to this interesting question.

At the beginning of man, nature is good", all people are pure and innocent at the beginning of life, why is the direction of life very different? Teacher Zhang Jing provided an explanation:Without the blessing of the power of poetry, it is easy for people to get lost and fall in real life.

In the pilot film, Zhang Jing also quoted an important point of Mr. Zhu Ziqing:Self-control and self-restraint and consideration for others, both of which can be said to be imitations of poetry. Poetry can cultivate temperament, and that's what it means.

Why can poetry, like the distance, have the same power of inspiration to people's hearts? This is because it brings us a beam of light.

Zhang Jing said that I hope we can all find the resonance of "having a relationship with my heart" from poetry, but more importantly,When we are faced with ** and experience confusion, there is such a light to guide, so that we can make ourselves wiser and fuller.

ZHANG Jing. What is poetry?

Text |ZHANG Jing.

This article is from "Professor Zhang Jing's Ancient Poetry Course at Nankai University".

Hello everyone!

I'm Zhang Jing, and I'm glad that we're here today to talk about poetry and lyrics.

First of all, a question comes to mind:What is poetry?

Everyone can define it, what does poetry mean to you and me, especially to us at the moment?

Liu Xian's said this in "Wenxin Carving Dragon".

The poet holds also, holds the human nature.

Liu Xian's "Wenxin Carving Dragon, Ming Poems".

"Poetry" and "hold", everyone looks at these two words, they are indeed very similar. What is "holding"? I'm holding the manuscript, I'm going to exert myself, and as soon as I slack off, if I don't exert myself, it will fall down.

"Poetry" and "hold" are the same"Poetry".It's next to the words, that isA power of language blessings。What we hold up and bless with our hands may be manuscripts, cups of water, etc., but what poetry is blessed with words is not an external object that everyone can see, it holds the temperament. That is to say,Poetry is related to the temperament of each of us, that is, it is related to how each of our hearts walk and think. (Ye Jiaying: Poetry is the way the heart walks).

Everyone has poetry in their hearts

Jin Shengxian once said such a passage:

Poetry is not a foreign body, but it is just a last resort that everyone has on the tip of their tongue, and they will want to say a word of speech.

Jin Shengsigh. What does that mean? Poetry is actually not something special, each of us has it in our hearts, and we especially want to express it, we must say it, not to say unpleasant, such an emotion, the poet has expressed it appropriately and appropriately, so we can sayEveryone is a poet because we have poetry in our hearts.

ZHANG Jing. But how can we read our own excitement and emotion from the poems, so that the poems can interact with our current lives, our cultivation, and our words? I think this may be a question that the current generation, not only our young students, but also those of us who are middle-aged, have to think about it.

On November 16, 2012, five left-behind children in Bijie, Guizhou Province, died of carbon dioxide poisoning while burning a fire in a garbage bin to keep warm. When this news came out, my son was about two years old. I remember that night, after I got out of class and rode home on an electric car, my son held my hand and it was very cold to the touch, and he said, "Mom, can we tell a cold story tonight?" ”

The first thought that flashed in my mind at that time was to tell him the story of these five children in Bijie, Guizhou. However, I hesitated inwardly, thinking that if I told him this story, he would still be so young, if he asked me, "Mom, why did you bring me into such a world?" How do I answer?

So I thought about it, but I still distanced him a little and told him about the little girl who sold matches. After speaking, he was silent for a long time when he was about two years old, because before that, he probably didn't think that there were such people in the world who were going through such things. He was silent for a long time, then suddenly looked up at me and said:

Mom, when I grow up, I want to find a big shed so that children who don't have a home can live in it.

Later, when I saw Mr. Ye Jiaying reporting on other work, I talked to Mr. Ye about this matter, and Mr. Ye said, "You should immediately tell the child about Du Fu.""The Thatched House is Broken by the Autumn Wind".

The thatched hut is broken by the autumn wind" by Zhang Guangyu.

I said, "Sir, can the child understand when he is so young?" "The Song of the Thatched House Broken by the Autumn Wind" is so long ......

Mr. Ye saidIt doesn't matter if he understands it or not, the key is to leave an imprint in his young heart, knowing that this desire of his own, in fact, in ancient China, there was a poet who shared his ideals and aspirations, which is particularly important.

So what is poetry? It's something that everyone has on their heads. My child is only two years old, and he also has such a feeling, such a feeling. But the poet expressed it appropriately, it was Du Fu who used his immortal poems to water our nation, and these genes have been nourished in our blood for so long. Therefore, it is "every word that the tip of the tongue of every heart has nothing to offer, and it will want to say a word of speech."

So,On the one hand, poetry can be used as a voice to express the aspirations of each of us; On the other hand, Liu Xian also said that it can give us a blessing power.

Poetry gives us the power to bless

What is a blessing? In fact, I think there is also a good expression in our current popularity, that is:

"Life is not only about what is in front of you, but also about poetry and distance.

Why can poetry go hand in hand with distance? What kind of lifting effect does it have with our real life? Here I would like to share with you such an explanation of Wang Fuzhi in "Tong Jie":

Those who can prosper are called heroes. Those who are excited, and those who are angry with sex are also. Procrastination is a natural thing in the world, but it is not.

Wang Fuzhi (1619-1692).

Thinker, scholar, poet, and lyricist in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.

A native of Hengyang, Hunan, named Jiang Zhai, lived in seclusion in Shichuan Mountain in his later years, so later generations called him "Mr. Chuanshan".

What does that mean? He said that after each of us stepped into society, we were slowly coerced by the world: when others say it is good, we also think it is good; What everyone else pursues, we all want to pursue as a matter of course. So,We have lost our own standards of judgment and the ability to think for ourselves。So, what did we become in the end when we were running around in such a red world, slowly being washed by these days of firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea?

Working all day long and not being able to spend more than the wives of the Lu field, counting the salary of a few meters, frustrating their ambition day by day, looking up at the sky but not knowing its height, looking down on the ground and not knowing its thickness.

That is to say, in the polishing of these trivial things in daily life, we are slowly materialized, and we are also contaminated with these problems, and finally we become "although we feel like a dream, although we see like blindness, although we diligently move our four bodies, our minds are not spiritual." ”

When we say "the current situation", it is the status quo of life, in such a reality, all kinds of ** and real hardships, so what should we do? Is there a power that lifts people's hearts? Wang Fuzhi said:

The sage uses poetry to cleanse his turbid heart, shake his twilight, and accept it to the heroes and later sages, which saves humanity in troubled times.

Wang Fuzhi's "Understanding".

So,Why can poetry, like the distance, have the same power of inspiration to people's hearts? It's because it brings us a beam of lightI hope that we can all find the resonance of "related to my heart" from poetry, but more importantly, when we face ** and experience confusion, there is such a light to guide us, so that we can make ourselves more intelligent and fuller.

Prof. Zhang Jing and Mr. Yip Ka Ying.

Poetry, hang a lamp in the twilight

Mr. Lin Yutang has a very good saying, he said that Chinese culture has been uninterrupted for thousands of years, but we do not have a state religion, he thinksChinese poetry has almost replaced the role of religion

I feel that Chinese poetry has taken the place of religion in China.

Lin Yutang's "My Country and My People".

Why is this happening? We sayFor thousands of years, Chinese classical poetry has been deeply involved in the formation of the core values of our culture and the shaping of the national spiritIt has become a part of the genes of each of us. But how is it done? What definition of poetry should we have?

There is a modern poet, Mr. Zheng Chouyu, who has these two sentences in "Yedian":

Who handed down the poet's trade? A lamp hangs in the dusk.

Zheng Chouyu "Wild Shop".

What does a poet do? What do we read poetry for? It is a lamp that hangs in the twilight。That is, when we seem to be gradually, gradually going into the darkness, or we can't find the light, poetry is the light.

Here I can also share a personal experience of my own child, probably after my child entered primary school, I enrolled him in a calligraphy class, and he went to the Children's Palace every week to practice calligraphy. Once, when my child went to practice calligraphy, I walked around the nearby shopping mall. As a result, when I went to the bathroom in the mall, I hung my bag in the bathroom cubicle and locked the door. However, after going to the toilet and looking up, my bag was gone! Fortunately, I still had my phone in my hand, so I quickly called 110 to call the police. After the police came, I adjusted the surveillance, and in the surveillance, I was really excited to carry my bag, holding a mobile phone in one hand, and carrying a bag in the other, and when I came out, I was playing ** in a panic.

On the way home, I was very frustrated, because although I didn't have much money in my bag, there were two books borrowed from the library, and it was a big challenge for me to lose the books in our school library, not only to lose money, but also to buy the same edition in the same year.

At this time, I didn't think of the child saying:

Mom, let's recite poems together!

I thought it was out of place, and I said, "What are you memorizing at this time?!" He said

Mom, didn't you say that reciting poems can make us feel better?!

Therefore, when I think about these two sentences of Mr. Zheng Chouyu, I think that each of us may have a different understanding of poetryEach of us has had that heart-pounding moment of intimate contact with poetry in our own growth process.
