2024 Chinese New Year outlook
In this vast land, there is a mountain called Tianmu Mountain. It is like a silent wise man, quietly watching the years go by, the seasons change. There is an ancient temple hidden in the mountains, called Zenyuan Temple, which is hidden in the mountains and is little known, as if forgotten by time. And in this ancient temple, there is a hundred-year-old magnolia tree, which grows silently, not inferior to the famous Faxi Temple.
Last year, on March 5th, just in the right time of spring, I embarked on a journey to Tianmu Mountain. There is no destination, just want to hike the mountain casually and feel the breath of spring. When I stepped into the temple, the 150-year-old magnolia tree suddenly appeared in front of me, like an ancient fairy, quietly blooming its beauty.
At that moment, I was deeply shocked. My footsteps involuntarily stopped, and I couldn't take my eyes off the tree. I tried to find words in my mind that would describe how I was feeling at the moment, but found that any words seemed pale and weak. I can only repeat over and over again: "It's really beautiful!" It's really beautiful!! It's really beautiful!! That kind of beauty, as if it does not belong to this world, it is so pure, so fearless, so wanton and so quiet.
The petals of the magnolia tree are full and white, as delicate as the softest silk. Against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, yellow walls and tiles, they exude a pink-white or purple-blue hue, as charming as a dream. I seem to see the passage of time, the life and death of a tree, and the fact that it stands there quietly, witnessing the comings and goings of people and the blossoming and falling of flowers.
This year, the weather was cold and rainy was frequent. I think the magnolia tree hasn't opened yet. But I believe that no matter when, it will bloom and be brilliant and fearless, whether anyone appreciates it or not. Because, its beauty, is for itself, but also for the world.
Spring is such a wonderful season. In order not to waste this wonderful time, I decided to make a full schedule for every sunny weekend. I want to feel the breath of spring, to appreciate those beautiful flowers, to experience the beauty of life.
This is the story of the hundred-year-old magnolia tree I encountered at the Zenyuan Temple of Tianmu Mountain. It grows there quietly, not ostentatious, not showing off, but just showing the beauty of life in its own way. It made me understand that true beauty does not need words to embellish, it only needs to be discovered, appreciated, and cherished.
