The organization aims to mobilize the expertise, knowledge and resources of academia, civil society, business and ** to promote sustainable development, promote the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and work to support the implementation of the SDGs at the national and international levels. By integrating approaches, it addresses the interconnected and intertwined economic, social, and environmental challenges facing the world, accelerates joint learning, and helps overcome the disconnect between technical and policy work. The organization also works closely with UN agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, civil society and others. The organization and management of the body allows regional leaders to participate in its development, ensuring an effective structure for decision-making and accountability. As of 2022, the organization has more than 1,700 members in 144 countries, with offices in New York, Paris and Kuala Lumpur.
