We've heard a lot about Samsung coming out with a reasonable foldable phone later this year, and the new information we've just received suggests that Samsung's upcoming foldable phone could be called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE. It will be a low-cost alternative to its big brother.
What's more interesting is that in the past few weeks, we've heard that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a more expensive Ultra version and the standard version will be a cheaper model, but the new report refutes this claim and suggests that you can get a more affordable folding phone.
Now, what's even more interesting is that the reports surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE suggest that this could be released later this year, sometime in Q4. This means that it will most likely not be available at the same time as its sibling in July, which makes sense, as Samsung wants all of its attention to be focused on flagship devices rather than more affordable ones.
It reminds me of the time when the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE and other devices were released at a separate event, separated from their siblings. Therefore, it makes sense that Samsung has launched a series of FE devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold Z FE. Keep in mind that the name is subject to change.
While I'm excited about the possibility of launching a more affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6, I do have a lot of concerns about this device, mainly how it will stack up against more expensive models and where Samsung will take shortcuts. At this point, we do know that Samsung is going to remove some features of the phone. We just don't know which characteristics. I just hope Apple doesn't make any compromises on the overall durability of the phone, as that would really ruin the overall experience and the company's legacy.
With rumors piling up about the affordable Galaxy Z Fold 6, it's safe to say that we'll probably get the phone sometime in the near future, and given that nothing is a secret, we'll let you release it once we know more.
