Mr. Sun Qifeng was born in Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province in 1920 and joined the Communist Party of China in December 1948. He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Beiping Art College in 1947, and served as a teacher, department head and secretary of the Party branch of Hebei Normal University, Hebei Art Normal College, Tianjin Wuqi Art School and Tianjin Art Institute from August 1952 to August 1980, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts from August 1980 to June 1983.
Sun Qifeng, a famous contemporary Chinese art educator, master of calligraphy and painting, consultant and professor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, member of the China National Academy of Painting, principle of China Artists Association, principle of Chinese Calligraphers Association, principle of Xiling Seal Society, former executive director of Tianjin Federation of Literary and Art Circles, former vice chairman of Tianjin Artists Association, former vice chairman of Tianjin Calligraphers Association, former president of Tianjin Chinese Painting Research Association, consultant of Tianjin Chinese Painting Society, and expert enjoying special allowances. He is the winner of the "Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" medal, the "50 Years of Glory in the Party" medal, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the China Art Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the China Shuhange Pavilion Award, the China Plastic Arts Achievement Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award of Xiling Seal Society.
Mr. Sun Qifeng has made outstanding contributions to the teaching of Chinese painting throughout his life, and is an important founder of the Chinese painting major of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, a salary bearer of Chinese contemporary art education, a practitioner and promoter of Chinese traditional culture, and a peak in the Chinese art world and art education circle.
This art exhibition aims to inherit and carry forward the great educational spirit and artistic attainments of Mr. Sun Qifeng, a contemporary art educator and master of Chinese painting, and displays a total of 105 paintings and calligraphy of Mr. Sun Qifeng in different creative periods to commemorate the 105th anniversary of Mr. Sun Qifeng's birth.
