Recently, many cities have eliminated free parking spaces, which is a terrible price to pay for free.
Back then, major cities followed suit and introduced free on-street parking, some free for all day and free for a limited time at night. In some places, there are also target tasks, and if they can't be completed, they will be held accountable and deducted points, so they can be seen everywhere on both sides of the road.
As soon as the policy was implemented, it won great support from the public, brought a lot of convenience to the people, and enjoyed the policy dividends.
First, residents in the community with tight parking spaces do not have to look for parking spaces everywhere when they go home at night, eliminating the concern of being ticketed. Second, residents who go out to do business don't have to bother looking for parking lots, and when they see a marked parking space on the side of the road, they can stop directly and do business with confidence. Third, for residents with limited budgets, they can only buy cars and do not need to buy parking spaces for the time being, which has boosted the consumption of cars.
But there are two sides to everything. When it was first implemented, everyone thought it was good, and they all tried to rub this free cake, and when there were more people, there were contradictions.
People are private, free public resources, such as parks, squares, etc., citizens can use them at any time, and they can enjoy the convenience brought by these resources without grabbing them.
But free parking is different, although it is a public resource, it is limited, especially in densely populated places, where your car is parked and no one else can use it. As a result, some selfish people use various means to seize parking spaces and occupy them for a long time, and later more and more people follow suit, and they become private parking spaces. There are even second-hand car dealers who occupy all the parking spaces in a row.
Therefore, the original intention of free parking is good, but parking spaces are limited resources, and selfish people want to occupy and use them, resulting in the unfairness of the use of free parking spaces, so the biggest unfairness of free parking spaces is free.
