Ford and Tesla announced in May 2023 that they had reached a cooperation agreement on the charging network, in which Ford's pure electric vehicles include: Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit, which will be able to use Tesla Superchargers in the United States from 2024, and Ford has also officially announced that it will join the NACS lineup, and from 2025, Ford's new generation of U.S.-spec electric vehicles will be changed from CCS1 to NAS Charging specifications.

Recently, Ford officially announced that U.S. owners of the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning can officially start using Tesla Superchargers to replenish their vehicles, and a total of more than 1,5000 charging stations will be added to Ford's Blueoval charging network, which will greatly improve the convenience of Ford's U.S. pure electric vehicle owners and have more charging station options.

And to encourage Ford owners to use Tesla Superchargers, Ford will also provide NACS charging adapters to Ford existing or new EV owners for free until June 30, 2024, and after June 30, they will have to pay for a $230 price. From 2025 onwards, all Ford's US-spec EVs will also be changed to NACS charging specifications, which means that only current US-spec owners will need NACS charging adapters.

Ford EV owners can use the Blueoval charging network to create a paid account via the Ford PASS app or the Charging Assist app on the vehicle's touch screen, eliminating the need to pay with a credit card. As long as the owner creates an account and activates the plug-and-play function, the Tesla Supercharger will support the plug-and-play function of the Ford model, which will automatically turn on the charging when the charging cable is plugged in, and manage the vehicle's charging charges through the Ford Pass.
