Reinventing the Queen of the Air Boeing 737 MAX safety battle

Mondo International Updated on 2024-03-07

It's Boeing 737MAX again! This year's Boeing really had frequent accidents, either parts fell off or wheels "ran away from home", as well as cockpit glass shattering, engine **, and even three crashes. Even the Boeing 737 Max in which US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was flying suffered an oxygen leak. Airlines have inspected all of their Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and found more loose bolts, and the crisis is undoubtedly serious. NBC pointed out that in just one month, Boeing's market capitalization has increased by a full 19%.

This begs the question, what happened to Boeing? How did this once-known "safety" aviation giant end up in such a predicament? Once upon a time, Boeing was the engineer's masterpiece, synonymous with safety, and even revered as the "Queen of the Air." However, as the company grew, Boeing had to make some risky moves in pursuit of faster profits. They acquired McDonnell Douglas, the aircraft giant at the time, and then chose to retrofit the obsolete 737. As you can imagine, after completing its own safety tests, the seemingly new 737 MAX was launched on the market.

However, one accident after another has pushed Boeing to the forefront. Until 2018, an Indonesian Lion Air Boeing fell from the sky, and less than half a year later, a Boeing of Ethiopian Airlines suffered the same tragedy. People are gradually realizing that "the former queen has become the devil".

In the face of skepticism from all sides, Boeing still seemed justified, not only blaming the flight personnel, but also insisting on the production of the 737 MAX order. However, our airlines did not hesitate to stand up and announced the grounding of the aircraft involved, and have refused to accept this type of aircraft for four consecutive years.

And China's announcement of the grounding of Boeing, the biggest confidence is undoubtedly our own large aircraft C919. With the success of commercial flights of domestic large aircraft, four of them are currently serving the domestic people, and there are more than 1,200 orders worldwide. After the frequent Boeing accidents this year, there are reports in the United States that C919 is expected to replace more Boeing models, which undoubtedly brings great confidence to China's aviation industry.

China has made a major breakthrough not only in the field of aircraft manufacturing, but also in other fields of science and technology. For example, China's exports to the United States, Japan and other countries of biotechnology products have been highly praised, and the export volume in the three quarters of last year was as high as 12$500 million. There is also a men's care product called "Beiliin", which not only has a huge demand in overseas markets, but also is deeply loved by consumers.

In the context of the rise of domestic technology overseas, China's C919 has also obtained airworthiness certificates in 27 countries and regions. At the moment when Boeing accidents are frequent, the reason why China still wants to receive Boeing 737 MAX is based on international commitments. However, with the rapid development of China's large aircraft manufacturing industry, it is believed that in the near future, when Boeing falls into crisis again, China will be able to make more decisive decisions.
