"Expanding the supply of universities for the elderly has become an urgent task to accelerate the development of education for the elderly. Meng Yan, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, deputy director of the Culture and Art Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party, and director of the Art and Sports Center of Beijing No. 2 Middle School, suggested that the rational distribution of educational resources for the elderly should be promoted, and the open university for the elderly should be vigorously established, so that the elderly can learn, do something, and have fun.

At present, the education of the elderly in China mainly relies on universities or schools for the elderly, and the form of running schools is single.

First, the course content covers a narrow area. Meng Yan believes that all kinds of colleges and universities should be encouraged to hold universities for the elderly, and the universities for the elderly organized by departments, industries and enterprises should continue to be open to the society, and at the same time support the participation of social forces. It is also necessary to vigorously set up an open university for the elderly, promote distance education for the elderly, actively develop teaching content, and combine face-to-face learning, experiential learning, online learning, reading clubs, lectures, study tours, volunteer services and other forms to carry out educational activities for the elderly.

Elderly people provide services to society, and they can gain self-confidence and happiness physically and psychologically. Meng Yan also suggested that a human resource development service system for the elderly should be established. The elderly should be regarded as the main body, and through the education of the elderly and social participation, the intellectual, experience, and skill advantages of the elderly should be brought into full play. Using Internet technology, we will establish a service system for the development of human resources for the elderly, and further develop and enrich the valuable human resources for the elderly, so that they can serve the country's economic and social construction.
