How to improve your ability to quickly and systematically master a domain knowledge?
There are three ways to share: build a framework, sort out concepts, and write a book.
1. Build a framework
Having frame thinking is very important and necessary for both reading and writing.
Why?
When writing, if you don't have a clear idea and a cohesive framework, then what you write will be disorganized and you won't be able to grasp any of the main points.
Although a lot of it is written on the surface, the reader will feel that it is a mess and have no idea what is written.
Similarly, for reading, if there is no clear theme and no clear framework as a guide, then reading will fall into a blind situation, which is not conducive to the accumulation of one's own knowledge system.
Therefore, it is necessary to build a framework.
For reading and writing, it is necessary to build a framework carefully, even if you can't sort out the framework very perfectly, you must have your own basic framework to fill in the knowledge, and you must not fall into an aimless learning state.
In the era of AI, we can use artificial intelligence to quickly build a knowledge system.
This can greatly improve our reading and writing efficiency and better improve our content.
2. Sort out the concept
I remember Feng Tang mentioned in "The Mind of Success", and the best way he learned from McKinsey to quickly cut into unfamiliar territory is also the same.
By finding out the 100 basic concepts of an industry, each concept is carefully recorded, reflected and summarized, and in your own words, write an understanding, correlation and case study of the concept, each concept is written in 2000 words.
When these 100 concepts were written, 100 essays and 200,000 words were accumulated. Through the accumulation of these quantities, the construction of the most basic system can be completed, which is an excellent way to quickly cut into a field.
I've mentioned this method several times in my own articles, but unfortunately I haven't really used it myself, and I can't fully explain how valuable this method is.
As I mentioned before, I didn't do enough work to make a list of 100 topics, write 100 questions, find 100 methods, etc., which is a big pity.
However, it doesn't hurt, I can start doing it now, and as long as I continue to do it, I will definitely be able to do it well.
What about starting with **?
Start with the basic concepts in the field you care about, and then expand to problems, topic selection, logical systems, and so on.
3. Write a book
When learning a content systematically, if you can sort out the outline table of contents according to your own logic and thinking, and then write a book according to this outline table of contents, it is the fastest way to improve yourself.
The purpose of writing a book here is not to publish, nor to make money, nor to gain fame and fortune, but to enable myself to sort out my knowledge system by writing in this way.
By writing a book, I will force myself to systematically consider the causes and consequences of the content in this field, and I will elaborate on it from various aspects such as structure, logic, and cases.
Writing a book is a relatively efficient way to learn, and you can systematically build your own knowledge system and logical structure.
Regarding the way to write a book to build a system, the first time I saw this statement was in Akiba's reading class, he mentioned that he could use thematic reading, sort out problems according to his own logical system, and read themes with questions.
It's a great way to write a book to read a topic and build your own system. Why?
Because through self-questioning and self-answering, through thematic reading, you can quickly establish a basic cognitive framework, which can be corroborated by different people's perspectives.
Through this high-intensity, high-density learning method, you can build up your knowledge of this subject to the greatest extent, which is also the best way to learn.
How?
First, identify the topics you want to study and study, and find a list of relevant books.
For example, if I want to learn the theme of action, then I can collect relevant books through platforms such as WeChat Reading, Get, and Douban.
Pay special attention to the rating of the selected book, as a high rating means that it is recognized by the majority of readers and can be more representative of the depth of research and popularity of the topic.
Look for at least 5 books, if not a few more.
Second, take out the table of contents of these books and organize your own structure according to your own ideas and logic.
The contents of the table of contents are different for different books, some are relatively clear, and some are not so clear.
At this time, the most important step is to make a relatively clear table of contents according to your own understanding, and make a relatively clear outline of what you think you need to master.
For example, you can build a big logical framework based on what, why, and how.
What is Mobility?
Why is mobility important?
How to train mobility?
What are the misconceptions about the method of training mobility?
Are there any applicable boundaries?
Wait a minute. By constructing your own logical structure in this way, you can express your own structure with maximum clarity.
Third, quickly write out the content of the first version of the framework.
Concentrate first and write the first version as quickly as possible.
Why fast?
Because once it slows down, people are easy to fall into the trap of perfectionism, or they start to look back at what they have written, feel that it is not good, and then delete and modify it in various ways;
Either they begin to question and deny the necessity of what they are doing, and eventually they may be defeated by irritability, and eventually lose the motivation to do things.
Therefore, it is important to complete this as quickly as possible, regardless of whether any content is perfect or not, and the first priority is to finish writing.
Finally, after writing, start precipitating and revising the content.
At this time, you can read a lot of books, accumulate, embed case ideas in the book, and modify chapters, logic, paragraphs, language, etc.
In the whole writing process, it is impossible to achieve it overnight, and it is impossible to think of better and more perfect ideas and cases for many ideas, and it can only be made up for in the process of revision and improvement in the later stage.
The most important thing in this process is to be slow, slow enough to scrutinize every sentence, every paragraph, every chapter, and even every punctuation mark.
Striving to do the best within one's own ability is the most important sense of responsibility for one's work.
