It has promoted the major revision of occupational health standards in China and the United States and other countries, and has achieved remarkable results; It reveals that indoor air pollution generated by household solid fuels is a major cause of premature death of residents, and proposes preventive measures to switch to clean energy and effective ventilation, which has changed the preventive measures in China and even the world. The main components and mechanisms of cardiopulmonary damage caused by air pollution are studied in depth, which provides new evidence for the formulation of environmental quality standards and efficient and precise prevention.
According to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in February 2022, Wu Tangchun has published more than 400 articles in "The Journal of the American Medical Association" and "Nature". In October 1999 and May 2005, Wu Tangchun organized the 2nd and 4th International Conferences on Molecular Biology of Stress Response.
Wu Tangchun has made outstanding contributions to unraveling air pollution**, elucidating pathogenesis, and formulating preventive measures.
