Microsoft Sao Op places Bing search ads in Google search results

IT Home reported on March 7 that some users recently discovered that advertisements for Microsoft Bing search appeared on the Google search results page.

For example, when a user searches Google for "five calcium-rich foods," they may see an ad from Bing in addition to Google's own list of search results. When clicked on the ad, the user will be directed to Bing's search results page, and search results related to "five calcium-rich foods" will also be displayed.

According to IT House, both Google and Bing have their own advertising platforms, which are Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, respectively. Microsoft has chosen to place ads for Bing search in Google's search results, directing users to Bing's search results page.

Put simply, Microsoft spends money to get Google to display Bing's search ads and wants users to click on them and jump to Bing to search, giving Microsoft the opportunity to show more ads and monetize them.

However, this practice is also puzzling. Because users can get the information they need directly in Google search results, why bother to jump to Bing?
