Wenxi Middle School held the 5th "Meet the Classics, Hand in Hand with American Literature" essay contest from November 28th to 30th.

This activity is divided into two competition themes designed by grade. The theme of the competition for the first-year senior high school students is "Rural China" reading perception and Wenxi County local culture. The purpose of the competition is to cultivate students' interest and Xi in reading, so that students can understand China's local culture, and enhance their sense of identity and pride in their hometown culture. The theme of the competition for the second year students is the comprehension and epiphany of the classic sentences in the 12 chapters of the Analects. The purpose of the competition is to improve students' literary literacy and writing ability, cultivate students' interest and love for Chinese culture, and deeply understand and appreciate the essence of traditional Chinese culture.
The form of the competition is individual participation, to ensure that the work is original, no plagiarism, the essay topic is self-proposed, and the number of words is required to be more than 800 words. The composition is well-structured, with clear paragraphs, clear hierarchies, and excessive naturalness. The language is fluent, vivid, vivid, rich in vocabulary, and diverse in sentence structure. The article has unique insights and thoughts, and is full of creativity.
The event is divided into two stages: preliminary round and semi-final. The preliminary round will be held in each grade group, and 2 outstanding students from each class will be selected to enter the semi-finalsIn the semi-final stage, each student writes within a limited time on the given topic, and the teaching office organizes the Chinese teacher to evaluate the work.

Based on the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness, this essay contest is evaluated according to the four aspects of the composition's examination intention, content, structure and language, and after layers of screening, 6 award-winning works are selected in each grade. Among them, there are 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes.
