Helping green and low-carbon travel
In response to the city's new round of popular projects, the task of improving the convenience of B+R parking is to better serve the "last mile" travel needs of residents. According to the unified deployment of the Municipal Road Transport Bureau, Fengxian District will take the Xidu Station of Rail Transit Line 5 as the implementation point of the B+R parking convenience improvement project in 2023. The District Transportation Committee and Xidu Street have given full play to the positive role of industry management and territorial governance, and have continuously improved the convenience of B+R parking through a series of measures such as "simultaneous construction and management" and "linkage between sections and blocks", so as to help green travel, public transport priority, and environmentally friendly and low-carbon travel modes.
The "B+R (Bike and Ride)" mode of transportation refers to a mode of transportation in which travelers first arrive at bus hubs and rail transit stations by non-motorized transportation, and then travel by transferring to public transportation.
Reasonable setting of non-motor vehicle parking areas
Since the non-motorized vehicle parking area around Xidu Station has been used for many years, there are problems such as unclear wear and tear of sign markings and the inability of the parking area to meet the growing parking demand, resulting in difficulties in on-site parking order and traffic organization.
Fengxian District has made full use of the roads, idle land of commercial plazas, back streets and alleys around Xidu Station to add 516 non-motorized parking spaces, with a total of 2,253 existing parking spacesImprove the parking area markings 20484 meters, optimize the on-site traffic organization and guidance, and further reasonably set up non-motor vehicle parking areas.
Concentrate on the remediation of zombie vehicles
Xidu Street, the territory, has given full play to its active role in the B+R parking convenience improvement project. During the implementation of the project, Xidu Street has organized many centralized rectification and clean-up actions for zombie vehicles, cleared and transported more than 100 abandoned non-motor vehicles, further released parking space, maintained the urban environment around the rail transit station, and better served the parking needs of citizens.
Strengthen third-party forces to patrol and defend
As a rail transit station with a large number of passengers in the morning and evening peak in Fengxian District, the use and parking demand of tidal non-motorized vehicles and the use of shared bicycles in the surrounding area have led to higher requirements for regional non-motorized vehicle parking management. The District Transportation Committee and Xidu Street are to urge bicycle sharing companies to strengthen the dynamic operation and maintenance of on-site vehicles, and do a good job in balancing timely collection and accurate delivery of vehicles. The second is to give full play to the local third-party strength, timely discover and deal with the problem of disorderly parking through special security personnel, and regularly sort out the vehicles in the line.
