Temu Amazon requires children's pajamas to be certified by the CPC flammability standards 16 CFR 1615 and 16 CFR 1616
What is the purpose of developing the standards for the flammability of children's sleepwear, 16 CFR 1615 and 16 CFR 1616?
To protect children from burns, these rules require that children's nightwear must be flame retardant and capable of self-extinguishing if the flame of a candle, match, lighter, or similar item causes it. These rules cover all children's pajamas over 9 months and under 14 months and require:
1) Fabrics and garments must pass certain flammability tests;Or.
2) According to the specified size, yes"Tight"Target.
If the product has a zipper or snap fastening, it is subject to 16 CFR Part 16152(m)(10)(i) and 16162(m)(10)(i), tight-fitting garments must also bear the following hangtag warning label: "Clothing shall fit snugly for the safety of children." This garment is not fire-resistant. Loose clothing is more likely to catch fire."
1) Fabrics and garments must pass certain flammability tests;Or.
2) According to the specified size, yes"Tight"Target.
Applicable Standards
16 CFR 1616 Standard for the Flammability of Children's Sleepwear (size 7-14).
Test Method:
The general test uses 5 35" 10" specimen, cut from the seams and trims of the fabric or garment being tested. Each specimen is tested individually. Place each specimen on a metal holder and hang each holder vertically in a test cabinet.
A gas flame is applied to the bottom edge of the specimen for 3 seconds. Measure the carbonization length of each specimen.
Test Samples & Judgments:
Flammability testing involves selecting and testing a specified number of samples for three different items – fabrics, prototype seams and finishes, and production garment seams. The fabric (or garment) must be tested at the time of production (or after one wash) and after 50 washes. Depending on the test results, an item may be accepted, rejected, or require additional sampling and testing. In general, the average carbonization length of 5 samples should not exceed 70 inches, or there is more than a specified number of individual 10 inch charring lengths.
Fabric:The finished fabric intended to be made into pajamas must be grouped into fabric production units (FPUs) and tested before using the fabric to make prototype garments. One FPU can be up to 5,000 wire yards of fabric. If different colors or print patterns of the same fabric exhibit similar combustion characteristics, you can include different colors or print patterns in the same FPU. Test one of 5 specimens (two specimens per FPU) from each end of each FPU.
Accept or reject the FPU according to the fabric sampling program criteria. If 15 consecutive FPUs of a fabric are accepted, the straight-line yardage of the fabric in the FPU may increase. If one FPU is rejected, subsequent FPUs must be tested a third time with 5 samples drawn from the middle of the FPU.
Certification process:
1.Samples are available;
2.Confirm the test criteria:
3.Confirm the testing contract and pay the testing fee;
4.Detect. 5.Qualified test, delivery of test report and CPC certificate.
6.Closed.
