The shield mud purification system is a complex system, and its main function is to treat the mud generated during the shield construction process. It usually includes the following sections:
1.Mud Collection: The system starts with the EPBM, which collects and stores the resulting slurry.
2.Preliminary treatment: The slurry is pre-treated through a strainer and cyclone to remove some of the larger particles and excess water.
3.Storage and mixing: The preliminarily treated slurry is fed into a large slurry pool and thoroughly stirred to ensure that all parts of the slurry are homogeneous.
4.Centrifuge treatment: The further treated slurry is purified by a centrifuge to remove finer particles and excess water.
5.Filter press treatment: Centrifuge-treated slurry, some of which may also contain too much water, will be dewatered through the filter press.
6.Slurry Delivery: After all the above steps, the purified mud is sent out of the construction site and is usually used as a material for other projects.
In addition, in order to ensure the normal operation of the purification system, it is also necessary to have corresponding mud transport vehicles, operators, management personnel, as well as a series of monitoring equipment and emergency measures. All these elements together ensure that the shield construction runs smoothly.
