PCR laboratoryAlso known as gene amplification laboratory, mainly located in the laboratory department and pathology department, PCR is a conventional method for molecular biology research and experiments, and is the basis of molecular diagnosis. With the advancement of science and technology, the construction of gene amplification laboratories has received more and more attention, as it plays a vital role in the reliability, accuracy and safety of test results.

Floor plan of the PCR laboratory

The PCR laboratory is spatially divided into four separate working areas: reagent preparation area, sample preparation area, amplification area and amplification product analysis area, and is equipped with a special corridor. If there is a need to transfer items, the transfer window can be installed, and the experimental work requires material intelligence from the reagent preparation area, sample preparation area, amplification area, amplification product analysis area, and no reverse flow is allowed.

Functions and pressure requirements of each area of the PCR laboratory

1.Reagent preparation area.

It is mainly used for the preparation and packaging of reagents, and the samples for the experiment are directly transported to the area, and the required reagents are prepared in the region, and there is no special pressure demand in the region.

2.Sample preparation area.

It is mainly used for sample preservation and experimental extraction, and the area is required to be positive pressure to avoid aerosol pollution

3.Amplification zone.

Mainly for DNA amplification, the use of amplification instrument, centrifuge and other equipment to work, the area is negative pressure, to avoid gas leakage from the area;

4.Amplify the product analysis area.

For the analysis and determination of experimental amplification products, negative pressure is also required in this area to avoid the diffusion of experimental results from this region.

PCR laboratory ventilation system

In order to avoid the interference of experimental data between each area of the PCR laboratory, the exhaust system should be designed, and according to the pressure requirements between each area, the full supply and full discharge can be adopted, and the proportion of air supply and exhaust should be strictly controlled.

PCR laboratory decoration section

The PCR laboratory enclosure should be firm, good air tightness, the yin and yang corners should be smooth, the ground, wall, ceiling should be smooth, easy to clean, wear-resistant, anti-corrosion, the ground can use PVC membrane, seamless, non-permeable, smooth and clean.
