In 1934, the Red Tenth Army was formally established, which was formed by the combination of the Red Seventh Army and the Red Tenth Army of the Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Military Regions, aiming to go north to resist Japan, establish a new Soviet area on the border of Anhui and Zhejiang, support the Long March of the Red Army, and promote our party's anti-Japanese concept. However, in the face of the Kuomintang's "encirclement and suppression", the Red Tenth Army suffered a setback in battle, resulting in the martyrdom of Xun Huaizhou, and Fang Zhimin was betrayed by traitors. Before the first day, Fang Zhimin assigned Li Buxin to be in charge of a team in Taiping County.

Li Buxin persisted in guerrilla warfare in the locality, strengthened the guerrilla forces, and retained the flame of revolution. Li Buxin, born in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province in 1907, came from a poor family. He participated in the agrarian revolution and joined the Communist Party of China in 1929, actively propagating revolutionary ideas and developing revolutionary forces. In 1934, he joined the advance team of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army to resist Japan in the north, and merged with the Red Seventh Army and the Red Tenth Army to participate in the creation of the new Soviet area on the border of Anhui and Zhejiang.

However, in November 1934, the advance team suffered a defeat at Tanjiaqiao in Taiping County, and Li Buxin was entrusted by Fang Zhimin to stay there and persist in guerrilla warfare. Thanks to his efforts, the guerrillas grew and eventually became a key force in the New Fourth Army. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Li Buxin served as the secretary of the special committee of southern Anhui, assisted in the development and construction of the New Fourth Army, and called on local aspiring young people to join the New Fourth Army.

When Li Buxin joined the Seventh Division of the New Fourth Army, he served as deputy political commissar and actively led the division's large-scale production campaign, making it the "Abundant Seventh Division" and providing a lot of support to other troops. During the War of Liberation, he served as the deputy political commissar of the Huaye Fourth Column, actively supported combat work in East China, and witnessed the birth of New China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Li Buxin entered the East China Bureau and served as the deputy director of the Organization Department of the East China Bureau.

Although he did not attend the 1955 investiture ceremony, he performed well in the East China Bureau. Subsequently, he was transferred to the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee as the director of the Political and Legal Cadre Management Division, and in 1960 he was promoted to deputy director of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, holding this position for the first time. However, during the special period of 1966, Li Buxin, as deputy director of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, was shocked, knocked down and stopped working, and experienced great physical and mental suffering.

Despite this, he always maintained an optimistic and positive attitude, bravely fought against the wrongdoings of the "Gang of Four", and maintained a noble temperament. After the end of the 10-year special period, Li Buxin's situation improved, and he returned to serve as deputy director of the Central Organization Department in 1978. This is the second time he has served as deputy director of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

After his comeback, he made great contributions to correcting mistakes, redressing unjust, false and wrongly decided cases, and implementing cadre policies, helping many cadres and winning praise from the people. In his later years, Li Buxin settled in Beijing, and when he was seriously ill, he left a will: no farewell ceremony was held, and the funeral was simple. In 1992, Li Buxin died of illness at the age of 85.
