Reporter Xu Nanping and intern Zhong Liang took a photo report: At about 9 o'clock in the morning on February 4, the Water Police Station of the Yongxiu County Public Security Bureau received a request for help from Jin Yan, a villager in Dingshan Village, Wucheng Town, a migratory bird town in China, saying that he found a "big bird" in his vegetable field, which was suspected of being injured and unable to fly. The marine police immediately rushed to the scene together with the staff of the Bird Rescue Center of the Wucheng Conservation and Management Station of the Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve Administration. It has been confirmed that the bird's body feathers are mainly pure white, the tail is black and has a greenish-purple luster, and the beak is long and stout and black.
Wang Xiaolong, executive deputy director of the Wucheng Conservation and Management Station, told reporters that the Oriental White Stork could spread its wings but could not fly normally, and the marine police and staff carefully sent it to the Bird Rescue Center for treatment. After examination by doctors at Wucheng Health Center, the Oriental White Stork had no obvious external injuries, and it was preliminarily determined that it was unable to fly due to wet wings and physical exhaustion. Currently, the bird is recovering at the Bird Rescue Centre and is under further observation** before being released back into the wild.
On the same day, the Bird Rescue Center of Wucheng Conservation Station of Poyang Lake Reserve awarded Jin Yan an honorary medal and a certificate to express his affirmation, and encouraged all the people to take the initiative to participate in the protection of wild animals. In recent years, Wucheng Station of Poyang Lake Reserve has fully mobilized local resources, cooperated with the public security and health departments, jointly established the "Migratory Bird Rescue Tripartite Joint Logistics Mechanism" in the Lake District, and set up the "Migratory Bird Rescue Center" in the front line of the Lake District, so that injured migratory birds can be rescued as soon as possible, and alleviate the difficult situation faced by migratory bird rescue, such as "difficult to send to the hospital when sick, unprofessional treatment, and lack of rescue after treatment".
