The Hyundai Ioniq T10 pickup could arrive as soon as this year, but the T7 may be more of a mystery.

An upcoming modern electric pickup truck finally has a name. Or at least it seems, based on the recent trade mark application profile, a trademark application with the model number Hyundai Iniq T10 has been found in an Australian trademark search. The name belongs to category 12 and is specifically used for cars, passenger cars, pickups, electric vehicles, and hybrids, among others.

Although the logo doesn't provide more details, the name gives us a lot of information. The fact that it belongs to the Ioniq model family suggests that the car will be battery-powered. A "10" could indicate that it will be positioned as the largest product in the Ioniq family. It remains to be seen how big it really is.

The addition of the letter "T" is very unusual because other modern Ioniq models, including the Ioniq 5 or Ioniq 6, have letters in the model name. The biggest possibility is that the T stands for "Pickup", which suggests that a different type of Ioniq 10 will also be available. Perhaps it will be a more rugged SUV called the Ioniq S10.

While Hyundai hasn't made it clear that it's developing a pickup, executives have hinted that Hyundai will launch an electrified pickup that will be unveiled sometime this year. However, Hyundai Australia's chief operating officer, Anthony Koh, previously said that an all-electric pickup may not be feasible, so it could come in the form of a hybrid or plug-in hybrid.

The T10 could be positioned at larger pickup trucks such as the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado. Why do we say that? Another trademark for the Ioniq T7 was also discovered, suggesting that Hyundai was developing a competitor to the Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. However, this could be a pickup based on the Ioniq 7 SUV, which would make more sense as a competitor to the Rivian R1T. The Ioniq T7 also has the potential to be such a compact all-in-one pickup truck as the Santa Cruz, rivaling the Ford M**Erick.

It is worth noting that Kia is also developing a pickup truck called "Tasman". Kia's pickup has already been spotted testing in South Korea, hinting that it will be revealed later this year. The pickup will be available with conventional natural gas and diesel engines, but we expect electrified and all-electric versions to be available in due course.
