Jierui Technology s experience in building an independent small language website for foreign trade

Recently, Jierui Technology has been working on the first small language version for a lot of time, and this article will share a little experience in building a small language site, and talk about how to translate the language by the way.

I didn't use the more popular plug-in methods on the market to do the technical solutions of foreign trade small languages. Instead, it takes a "stupid" approach, that is, after the English version is ready, a copy of the English version is copied to a specific subdirectory, and then the language is modified on the basis of this copied version.

The reason for this is because I have stepped on the pit of plugins before.

First of all, once a multilingual plug-in is used in the early stage of building a website, it is basically equivalent to getting on the "thief ship", and the follow-up of the entire ** will be deeply bound to this multilingual plug-in. Even if this plugin is not easy to use, I dare not easily replace it (changing the plugin will lead to big changes in the URL address, link structure, etc.), because the uncertainty is too great.

Secondly, after using the plug-in to translate a few language versions, it will make the ** link several times more at once. If the crawler resources of the new site are limited, the final **link inclusion data will be very unsatisfactory. The 100% inclusion required by our team is basically difficult to achieve.

Another point is that the effect made by the multi-language plug-in does not support a high degree of customization. For example, I want to modify a page on a French site right now, but unfortunately most plugins don't provide such a solution.

It is based on the above several small pain points, so since last year, the newly built ** of Jierui Technology and our team have begun to use manual methods to make small languages. In addition, each language has a separate back-end management, which makes it easy for users to update and modify content.

Of course, there will be a lot of tedious work added to this process, such as language translation. Among them, it involves the sorting and archiving of various materials, the translation of small languages of materials and the translation of small languages of copywriting materials.

According to our own experience, after doing a good job in these three pieces of content, and then forming our own standardized process, the efficiency of the entire small language construction will be much faster.

Take copywriting translation as an example, after we have sorted out all the copywriting materials of **, if we don't consider the accuracy of the copy, we can directly use the built-in translate function in Google Sheets to quickly translate the copywriting into the version we want.

If you want to translate more accurately, you can write a custom gpts to help us with this, which is also very efficient.

Of course, there are more efficiency solutions, such as APIs, Webflow, etc., because they all require a little basic technical literacy, so they will not be expanded for the time being.
