Recently, Tongji Road, which connects Tong'an and Jimei districts, has ushered in new changes, and the auxiliary road surface, non-motorized lanes and sidewalks of some sections have been optimized and upgraded.
Tongji Road, as part of Provincial Highway 217, is the main traffic artery connecting Jimei District and Tong'an District. According to the Jimei Highway Department of the Highway Center of the Municipal Transportation Bureau, with the continuous growth of road traffic flow, under the long-term load of vehicles, cracks, potholes and other diseases appear on the auxiliary road surface of some parts of Tongji Road, and due to the old supporting slow traffic system, there are problems such as uneven pavement tree ponds and damaged street bricks, which affect the perception and also have certain potential safety hazards.
In Tongji Road (Houzheng Section), the Jimei Highway Department carried out the auxiliary road repair project, organized maintenance workers to carry out preventive maintenance, repair and upgrading of the auxiliary road surface, and repaired and disposed of road diseases by milling the old pavement surface layer, spreading the cohesive asphalt, and adding SMA-13 modified asphalt overlay.
In Tongji Road (Tianma Road Junction-Tong'an Junction), the Jimei Highway Department carried out the "white to black" slow traffic system improvement project. "White to black" refers to the transformation of roads from cement roads to asphalt roads. According to the relevant staff of the department, by repairing the potholes and paving the permeable asphalt pavement, it not only improves the driving comfort, but also reduces noise and dust pollution, and also protects the right of way of non-motorized vehicles.
In order to further strengthen the control of waterlogging and improve the road drainage infrastructure, the Jimei Highway Department will also transform the vertical grate rainwater inlet along Tongji Road (Tianma Junction - Tong'an Junction) into a flat grate rainwater inlet, further improve the operation efficiency of the drainage system, relieve the pressure of road drainage, and effectively reduce the flood control pressure of highway emergency personnel.
