Chongxin: **Pay the bill for the masses to collect grain
Chongxin County will build a wheat demonstration field project to further mobilize the enthusiasm of the masses for grain planting, stabilize the wheat planting area, and ensure a stable and bumper yield and increase in income next year's summer grain. This year, Chongxin County has invested 700,000 yuan to implement the 2023 winter wheat planting demonstration field construction project, and establish 6,000 acres of new varieties of wheat demonstration fields in the county through unified seed supply, unified machine sowing, unified management, and unified evaluation, of which more than 300 acres are concentrated in 9 demonstration sites of 4,600 acres. In order to highlight the superiority of the planting varieties, comprehensively considering the field performance, yield and climatic characteristics of the relevant wheat varieties in recent years, we selected and purchased five new varieties with strong resistance, good yield and suitable for planting in the county, such as Tongmai No. 6, Lingxuan No. 6 and Chang 7080, which were distributed to the farmers free of charge. The County Agriculture and Rural Bureau organized agricultural technology, seeds and other departments to go deep into the field to guide villages and towns to plant scientifically in a timely manner, and investigate the height, density, number of tillers, moisture and pests and diseases of wheat seedlings after wheat emergence, and explain the growth characteristics, wintering knowledge and high-yield planting technology of various wheat varieties to villages and farmers to help formulate management measures such as wheat seedling suppression, chemical weeding, pests and weeds, especially stripe rust. "In each growth period of wheat, we will send a group of technical elite soldiers to track the whole process, keep an eye on the various cycles of wheat growth, timely guide villages, towns and farmers to do a good job in extreme weather prevention and pest control and other field management work, and do a good job in variety observation and evaluation, seed testing and project acceptance during the harvest period to ensure that the demonstration field increases production and income.
